I would like to hear from others who have tried adding ACV to their shampoo bottle.

Does it make your shampoo watery afterwards?

I added perhaps a capful to about 5 oz of my Trader Joes Nourish Spa shampoo, and then I also added Rosemary, Lavendar EOs to it.

Then I shook the bottle to mix it up.

When I used this mix the first time, no problem. The shampoo's consistency was still thick.

But 2-3 days later, it became watery. I wonder if this happens with ALL shampoos, or is the ACV just reacting to something in the TJs shampoo.

TIA!!

I added a couple teaspoons in my Avalon's shampoo. I it didn't thin out my shampoo though. Think

Nope. I don't like my shampoo thin and runny. But it seems the ACV affects my shampoo that way. So I was wondering if the acid in the ACV does that with all the other brands, or just mine.

If it's just my shampoo, I'll mix it batch by batch next time, so it won't be runny. Very Happy

what is the purpose of adding acv to shampoo? I have often used it as a final rinse, but had not considered what it would do in the shampoo.

Hi Linda,

I use it to calm an irriated scalp and it probably helps me keep my henna dye brighter on my hair.

Cherisse, i actually like a runnier shampoo Smile. I feel like i am stretching the product too.

Sometimes i find that the formula doesn't always mix well with what i put in. I have some new conditioner from trader joe's (essential--smells heavenly of cherry almond) and the mixture won't mix with the sunflower seed oil i put in. it just separates and sits on top of the bottle and comes out as oil. I am not sure if that's happening to you with the shampoo?

Kristen~
