Today I wanted to do a smokey eye but was at my bf's so didn't have my usual primer (UDPP) with me. I don't have particularly oily lids but shadows do tend to crease easily on me and my lids always have a sheen to them (which I actually like!). Anyways so I thought what keeps oil at bay best - silk dust! So I dusted some pure silk dust on my lids with an e/s brush and then went on to apply the rest of my eye makeup. Voila 6 hours later and NO sign of creasing whatsoever, looks as fresh and blended as it did when I just finished my makeup. A lot of you already have some silk dust whether it's IFP, Jurlique, Carekates' or pure silk dust from Lumiere or EDM or any other brand, it will WORK plus it's cheap and versatile! It's also very pure - you can bet there's no fillers in PURE silk powder, so nothing to irritate your eyes. So for any of you out there looking for a good lid primer this might be a very viable option Very Happy

Thanks for the tip will give it a try Smile but I guess I just have to be careful not to get any in my eyes. Confused

Btw can I ask which primer UDPP is? Embarassed I have only ever used ModelCo and Guerlain eyeshadow primers, the Guerlain one is very good but a bit pricey.

Thanks

UDPP = Urban Decay Primer Potion and it retails $14 at Sephora. It's a wonderful primer and has a sort of cult following. Inexpensive but you have to use your fingers as the applicator will apply too much and I don't like using a brush because it's too thick that it makes me feel it'll ruin my brush hairs (I tried with both synthetic and natural brushes).

I also love to use my illuminare ultimate all day foundation as a lid primer. My eyeshadow stays crease free allllll day and a tube of it lasts me over a year.
