um this isn't legal without a prescription. Plus the FDA is talkign about (or maybe has) banned it's use altogether. So I don't know if you will get many responses. |

It is still legal. You can get 4% but it has to be compounded. |

I only tried 2% before and had really bad reaction to it. I was using to under my eye area hoping to lightening those dark spots but my eye ended up looking like raccoon's. Maybe you should try to lower strengh first before move on to the 4%? |

yes, definitely. Kojic acid is probably a better choice if you really need something for lightening. |

My boss has 20 years in skin research and she swears by 4% hydroquinone. It's worked for others in the company too so I'm going to purchase. I'll look up the website she sent me. |

I heard that 1% kojic acid is equivalent to 2% hydroquine. I just received my Light N' Brite serum that contains kojic acid, so I'm going to give that a try!

Rjez, do you have that website for purchasing? I know the dangers of HQ and really want it short term to see if it can do anything for my post inflammatory hyperpigmentation from a bad laser job. |

Seems like hydroquinone is the gold standard for lightening, but why chance that you'll be the one person out of 1,000 that might have trouble with it and end up looking even worse? I've been an unlucky victim of a bad reaction to a medication so I'm speaking from experience. I'd try kojac or azelaic acid and vitamin c first, just remember be patient as you won't get as quick of results as you would the hydroquinone. |

It's called Glyquin XM Skin Bleaching Cream
available atwww.sunrisemeds.com
ingredients list:
Hydroquinone cream USP 4%, AHA 10%, Vitamin C+E, SPF 15
My boss and coworkers have not had any adverse problems, but of course everyone is different.
For the record, I work at a plastic surgery medical device company so many people here have eons of experience in skincare. |

I have tried the Glyquin XM on my arms and got a serious allergic reaction to it and didn't get any lightening result. I asked the same question in this forum and some members warned me about the possible side effect. Too bad I didn't listen to them. I guess if you are not allergic, then it may work. Good luck. |

You know there are really good reasons why HQ is illegal in many countries. Severe skin damage is one of them. Try something else |

My derm gave me a sample of glyquin and it was definitely too strong for me. People at work kept asking me if I was ok or if I was running a fever. I was very red and skin felt very hot to the touch. |

There seem to be a lot of people here with negative reactions but I personally know at least 5 people that have used it with great results (different ages too).
I'm definitely picking some up and will post my results. Although, I'm probably not too accurate because my skin tends to be tough. |

I tried 4%, but I think you cannot purchase over 4% over the counter. |
