Proven products to stop and reverse aging

I just saw an investigative reporting show on television that I wanted to share with you all. I spend a lot of money on products and I am never sure if they are actually doing anything.

A professor (age 50) worked with research labs to determine if there could be a scientific basis for antiaging claims.

Bottom line - I will start with the best news

1) Reversing wrinkles - Analysis was done to demonstrate through skin biopsies if there was improvement or reversal of damage and improvement of collagen.

- MD prescribed Tretinoin made reversal at all levels of the skin

- A product which you can buy from a pharmacy in the UK and others and I believe the line may be available in the US -
- No 7 Protect and Perfect serum- an over the counter product also had reversal at the lower levels of the skin

2) Protection against free radicals

- They tested a wide number of different cremes. Actually a number of very expensive cremes did not do much, even though they had a mixture of the different antioxidants in the creme. They think it is the combinations that actually stopped them working.

the two top cremes

- Nivea visage age reversal intense rejuvenating creme - (Scientificantly showed to stop 3 types of free radical damage)

-Prevage - significant free radical reduction in all 5 types of free radicals

3)As part of investigating antiaging claims on expensive moisturizers - they uncovered that the only ingredient that they need to have is SPF - then they can say antiaging. So, the 3rd element in the beauty bag was just a high level SPF creme.

I use prevage (and had no reaction to it) and I use Retin A creme. I am going to add the No 7 and the Nivea to my list.

Thanks for the Topic/Post Swissmiss. Where do you get your Prevage? It's on the Costco Website for 89.99 plus shipping for 1 oz. I am going to Costco today and will check to see if they have it. I do know they have something on the shelf by Elizabeth Arden but not sure what the product is.

You can also get it from Dermatologists. The Elizabeth Arden one has half the amount of idebenone than the original one has.

Thanks for the info. That's why it cost twice as much as Costco. Some of you guys are so up on this stuff. I feel like I have my head in the sand.

My Rant For The Day! Why do company's charge so much for a product? I know they have R&D but IMO if they made it affordable to the masses and the product did work the masses would keep buying it and passing the info to their friends which means more people purchasing. It seems to me the company in the long run would makes tons more money.

If the product from the UK does work at $20 they are going to, IMO, make alot of money and make a lot of people very happy. This is wishfull thinking on my part as I so want this product to work and be available (affordable) to those that can't come up with big bucks for skin care. I can afford the high end products but to be honest I am tired of throwing my money down the drain. I would much rather donate the money to those who need it instead of deposting money into the big corporations bank account. OK, I'm done with my rant.

I'm not sure about the one in Costco. I'd rather spend a little bit more just to be sure that I'm getting the product that works for me. That is just me though. Here is a link to the website. HTH

1) They said that the combination of C&E was very effective with free radicals, but did not deal with all of the free radicals.

2) I buy the MD version of the Prevage as it has more product and was recommended by my dermatologist. I did not buy it in switzerland. I bought it from the PURE Spa store in the usa. They do treatments (fillers and such) I went to the one in San Fran, when I was there on business. The price they charged me was $125 for the MD one. That is the same price quote I had from Neimans when I was there, for the drugstore version.

The dermatologist at PURE told me that to start really slow. He said one pump every other day. He said he has done this with his patients and has not had anyone come in with a reaction (he did say if I had one, then I could return it for full refund)

What I have noticed from the prevage is that my pores look smaller and my skin is firmer.

I now use it every day.

Idebenone 1% 15 ml for $25, 50 ml $70 and 100 ml for $130 (in Cdn$) A little bit cheaper than Prevage, I think I will try it out.

I have been putting it on right before my moisturizer AM/PM. I feel this stuff is so inexpensive compared to ALL my other products that I can afford to use it this way. It just feels so "marvelous" on my face. I am in love with the feel of it.

I was reading in the April Allure mag and found this interesting. For fine lines, it states 3 things one should use daily; Retinol, peptides, and antioxidants. For deeper wrinkles, the same thing is recommended, except instead of Retinol it says to go to Rx like Retin A. Just thought I would share!
