You cannot endorse your own products, DIY products for $$, etc. It is not a place for advertising but you are not advertising - you are sharing information to help others on EDS. If I'm incorrect I hope the mods will let me know however we are talking about a product on another site which is the same situation and no problems have resulted. We all try to help each other.

Ok, Sister Sweets, the company is called Helena Cosmetica. The website is only in Dutch, but you can use the contact page to send her an email (a very nice and helpful lady). Say you want a multi-vitamin cream with no perfume, preservative for 6 months and the addition of hyluron and fibrostimuline. Postage for countries outside Europe could be up to 10 euros, I'm afraid. Also, she doesn't work with credit cards, you have to pay by bank transfer, and this may involve bank charges in some countries.

I am very satisfied with ultramodshop. They give impartial reviews of the various rollers they have on sale, compare them with each other and are cheaper than some webshops I've looked at. Delivery was speedy.

Well, I would agree with you, but I also consider the fact that much of what we've been reading about on this thread is home based trial and error experimentation. I think professional medical rolls are really where the good results are at, and people who have tended in that direction have gotten the best results I think.

please can someone help me...ive just purchased a dema roller from sarah vaughter..its a 1.5mm..she also sent me some vit c powder and some infadolan...is this all i need to get started and do i need to do anythink else inbetween rolls...i can only use it every 6 week cant i?
sorry for bein a pain...but cud someone just quickly go through what i need to do...when do i use the vit c etc
any help would be greatly appreciated Very Happy

Hello!

I have enjoyed reading (most of) this forum, but I still have a couple of questions. I'm 22 and I've stayed completely out of the sun for the last seven years, so I think my skin is in pretty good condition. Besides all the scarring I have. I have had one pretty deep chicken pox scar next to my nose since I was a baby, and a couple of scratches on my cheek from roughing it with my brothers as a kid. I am also noticing very fine lines around my eyes and my makeup is starting to cake a little bit in the lines that are developing when I smile.

I am slightly obsessed with anti-aging, so I figure I should start trying to repair this damage while I'm young.

I did a TCA peel on my face last year with little to no results. And I found this forum just recently and decided to buy a 1.5mm roller on Amazon for $30. I got it last week and I've rolled lightly twice (with a day in between) since and I rolled pretty vigrously today. I've been using Derma E hyaluronic acid lotion after I roll. My (many) questions are:

How often should I be rolling?
Are Copper Peptides really effective on scars?
Has anyone noticed lip plumping by using the roller on your lips?
Has anyone tried it on eyebrows for eyebrow growth?
I've seen videos on YouTube where the doctors roll patients and they are a BLOODY mess when they roll. I am not bleeding very much. Am I not rolling hard enough?
And why is my skin all dry and peely after rolling?
Has anyone tried the tatto gun type of needling to repair a scar?
I have little trackmark bumps on my forhead that have been there for a few days, are these going to go away?

If anyone can help me out with any of these questions, I would very much appreciate it! Thank you!

I've been using the smaller one for 3 months, and the 1.0MM one I've used twice. The smaller one claims to do no more than tone the skin and increase absorption of face cream, so that's what I've been using it for 3 times per week. The one with longer needles is supposed to work on lines and wrinkles, pigment spots and enlarged pores, stimulating the growth of collagen, so I'll have to be patient.

What I have noticed with the longer needles is that my skin is "busy" for about a week after treatment: a slight, not unpleasant tingling,as if the skin is working hard to renew itself, and the vertical fine lines on my upper lip have really improved a lot, so I have great hopes for the future with the 1.0mm roller. I'm also using it on the back of one hand to see if there is any difference in the pigment spots over time.

I'll send you a PM about the cream, since I think we aren't allowed to recommend names of products on this forum.

I just started with the Dr-Roller 1.5mm. I have not used a numbing cream but need too as this hurts sooo bad! I must have thin skin because for all of you out there that don't use a topical, I can't imagine. I ordered numbing cream from London along with pure l-ascorbic acid and CP that I will be using after I roll.
This is a brutal process, I bleed a good amount but my skin does look great the next day!

I read somewhere on this forum that you shouldn't roll with bent needles that it causes more damage,You can either get a magnifying glass,and pull out the bent needles with tweezers.That's what I did or buy a new one.they are really cheap now,about 52 I think with free shipping,because we get a discount ,here's the link to the dermarolling for stretchmarks and all the information is on that page

Ive been trying to read all the posts here..but have not finished..very helpfull tho Very Happy

I just recieved my dr.roller 0.5mm a few days ago, since then ive rolled twice in a row. I have a few questions regarding the products that i should/or shouldnt use while dermarolling.

I applied an AHA cream by Ole henriksen, and it really burned.I read somewhere that AHA's ang glycolics should be avoided? is this true?

The reason why I am using the dermaroller is because i have a few ice pick scars on my cheeks.
I will List my products that I am currently using, Please tell me if I should avoid them right after rolling, or avoid them completely until im done dermarolling for good..(which i dont think i ever want to Laughing

Dear all,

I'm going to own my 1mm derma roller very soon...
May help me with some of my questions?

There are some device/advise that we only can use 1mm derma roller once per week, but in the website they encouraged to use up to 5 times per week for severe scars... which one is true?

I usually use Forever's Living Propolis Creme for night use and I decided to use it after derma-rolling too, which contains vit e, aloe vera and so on. Is it ok?

After reviewing a lot of the posts regarding derma rolling I'm now convinced that this may be a viable option for me. I'm now considering purchasing a 0.5 roller from Sarah Vaughter's website. The cost is reasonable and quality appears to be great for this device. I still have much to learn regarding this topic.

The site says: How is Deluxe Manual Skin Roller Superior to Other Rollers?

"Thinner Needle Thickness:The needle thickness is 0.25mm"

But this is a standard thickness of needles of all rollers. Their needles are not thinner than "ordinary" rollers. 0.25 thickness was found to be the most effective.

They have more needles than other rollers but it means that it will actually be more painful because more needles enter your skin in one go.

And with so many needles it is more likely that one or two will be bent and and it will be very difficult to spot that.

They don't use any needles but a kind of knives:

You can see that picture on the DTS site hansderma.net, it's the 12th picture in the first rotating picture thing.

I don't think I will want to let those "needles" close to my skin!

I've done lots of reading on these forums and other similar ones. Rarely are side effects reported or long term effects. My experience is one everyone who rolls their skin should know about. I had medical roll cit (3mm needle length) done by a well known and top NY plastic surgeon. I was 27 and had minor shallow acne scars on my cheeks. I was told that there were no side effects and it would improve my skin quality. I wasn't aware at the time that "injury to stimulate collagen" actually means causes scar tissue, even if it is minor, it still is scar tissue that creates the tightening effect. My surgery was in November 2009 and I was put under general anasthesia. I paid $5,700.00 All my reserach on the procedure before hand was positive and of course I trusted in the doctor's ability and knowledge. I was very bloody afterwards and my face swelled up to look like a balloon for 3 days. Downtime was 9 days and the redness didn't subside for about 1 1/2 months. At first my skin looked smoothed and vibrant. But after 3 months it began to tighten and thicken in an uncomfortable way. It changed the way my face looked as well. At the six month mark I began to lose fat in parts of my face and at about 9 months my face was so tight that it became uncomfortble to smile. One year later my face was thick and saggy with fat loss. After researching and asking questions a needling specialist told me that I had scar tissue under my skin and that was the cause of the pain and leathery feel. Another doctor wrote that he thinks the fat loss was because my face remained in a state of inflammation for months and my fat cells decreased. Now I'm looking into having some of the scar tissue broken down and maybe some peptides to help replace the bad tissue. I have contacted Des Fernandes and he wanted me to buy his products to improve the skin condition but did not respond to my email about the pain and fat loss. The Derma roller people have been more helpful on giving me information on what may have happened to my skin and possible remedies to undo some of the damage. It's all guess work because no one really can give me a definitive answer on how to help the problems and if they will go away.

I write this long email because there is virtually no information about the negative side effects of this procedure. I have been told that if a much shorter roller was used I would not have experienced any of this. Fat loss, scar tissue within my deep tissues, possible nerve damage, uncomfortability when smiling, and a an aesthetic change to my face. People have to understand what they're doing to they're skin and how once you injure it, it's most likely injured for good. Who knows what the long term effects are on the skin. I'm telling my story in the hope that it helps others. Any questions are welcome.

Miracally - thank you for sharing with all of us here on your rolling experience. That is such a horrible thing to have gone through. I wish you all the best in your skin rebounding from this.

I'm wondering if using copper peptides in conjunction with a roll like this would have alleviated, or even eliminated, some of the scar tissue buildup you experienced. I've used CPs for almost 3 years and have read up on them a LOT. They are called Skin Remodeling Copper Peptides (SRCP) and I believe they have done a good job of that on my skin. For you, they also have anti-inflammatory properties and anti-scarring tendecies.

Dr Pickart of Skin Biology (the man who discovered the GHK-Cu CPs) has said this about them:

That sounds awful, Miracally. I am sorry that happened to you. Did the doctor who performed the Roll-CIT give you any options on what to do now? I do want to say that this seems very strange about Dr. Fernandes. I have talked to him via email for quite a while now, and he has never tried to sell me anything. He has answered all of my questions promptly and has never brought his products up unless I specifically ask him a question about them. Maybe you could try to email him again?

Hi Rileygirl. My correspondence with Fernandes was at first positive and he sent me a list of acne products that he wanted me to use. At that time (about 6 months after the procedure) I wasn't sure what was happening with my skin and the really bad side effects were yet to come. I bought some of the products but couldn't afford all, and I used the main one, the vitamin A gel. Then when my face took a turn for the worse I wrote him again and he was not happy that I had not used all the products he recommended. (But I think this was more him being upset that I wasn't following all his advice as opposed to just wanting my money.) He even looked at my pictures and said that it looked like I had a good roll and should see improvement soon. I have showed those same photos to other specialists and they all say it is clear that scar tissue formed in my skin and my face looked much worse then before the procedure and the fat loss was evident. He mentioned none of those things when seeing my photos. I wrote him last week to update him and he has not responded. With all the information I have received I feel that he was not honest with me early on as he is aware that these side effects can occur when using a 3mm tool. I have been told that the 3mm is banned in many parts of Europe because the needles bend and can hook into the skin which causes major scar tissue. It should never be used on the face. I know he's been helpful with giving out information to many but unfortunately he has not been helpful with my injury.

The doctor who performed the procedure saw me 9 months after and gave me a referral to a dermatologist. I updated him last week and he now wants to see me again but I'm considering my options as to how to move forward from here.

Needless to say this has been a major eye opener into how the cosmetic industry operates, as well as painful to my face. I'm so vocal because it's really the only power I have- to help others be informed and not make the same mistake I made.

Thank you so much for posting this Miracally. I have been reading these posts for a while on dermarolling because I was contemplating using it to thicken my skin, but at what price? Wow I am so sorry to hear your story and all that you 've had to go through. It is so true that we all use these devices on our skin and don't often realize the possible side effects especially when you "injure" the skin in order to achieve improvement.
