Hi, all. I just wanted to pass along a tip about using GSE (Grape Seed Extract) topically to combat breakouts or acne. I heard about this on another skin care board and since I already have been using it, though not for skincare (purifying fresh veggies & fruits and sometimes internally), I thought I'd give it a whirl.
Well, I had the Nutribiotics brand and initially tried that but did not get the "oh my god, my face is burning off" sensation that others had noted so I thought perhaps it wasn't fresh or something. So, I bought Source Naturals and had the exact same experience. I suppose my skin is not sensitive to this at all and was surprised but hey, my skin says/does what it wants. Anyway, it's recommended to apply to damp skin and I leave it on for about 30 seconds - 1 minute while I massage it around. Some people also recommend diluting it 50/50 so do a patch test first. This stuff is great! I've been using it 2x/day after my main wash and just to fight breakouts because I've been testing products lately and am always having some sort of reaction. The GSE normally clears me up overnight. I do not get cystic acne very often so can't vouch for that but hear it will help there, too. What I generally get is clogged pores and whiteheads.
So, if you want a cheap tool for your anti-acne arsenal, I definitely recommend this. It's also a strong antioxidant so there's another plus! |
