Hey everyone,
I placed an order from SAS and received all my ingredients for my 'potion'. I am striving to attack my aging, wrinkled skin and increase firmness.

I ordered the canvas cream, Matrixyl (peptide), natural peptides, seakelp Bioferment. I mixed them together (just 1ounce) and all was fine EXCEPT it was not nearly emmoilient enough for me. So I added a little olive and apricot seed oil (mountain rose herbs). Still not emmoilient enough. So then I added a tad of unrefined Shea Butter. First off I couldn't get it to really mix. Before I put it in my concoction I tried to melt it in the microwave. Just got oily and seperated, so I threw that little bit out and stuck with adding it straight from the jar. Anyway, so now the shea butter is in my mix-though a little grainy. Now the cream balls up when I put in on Sad.

How do you add Shea butter to your creams? Do I need an emulsifier and which kind should I use?

Also has anyone used their own cream from WalMart or such to mix in their actives? I always seem to go back to Nivea Visage Q10 night cream and thought about just mixing the actives (minus the shea butter & oils) into it.

I just received CoQ10 & ALA from SAS and will be adding that as well as the peptides and SKB. BTW, I am trying to mimic Stivectin (I know, I know-but that stuff has worked for me) without spending the dough.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi, if I was in the US and needed an emollient base I'd buy some CeraVe - you can read some more here

Oouu, I like this. I can pick this up at CVS which is right down the street and the cream is inexpensive. Thanks for the recommendation.

Molly,
CeraVe is the bomb!

Thank you so much for a great recommendation. It's wonderful for mixing in the actives and is truly emmoiliant enough for my thirsty skin.
