For many years, I bought Nike or Adidas when choosing atheletic shoes. That it, until nine years ago, when I realized that Saucony and New Balance offered my feet better support. I require a lot, as I tend to be a heavy-striker on the outer heel.
Though I received new Saucony running shoes for Christmas, my feet have been in a fair amount of discomfort lately. Tension & pain in the arches, even when walking shorter distances.
Today I invested in a pair of awesome Chung-Shi shoes! I've chosen to use the word "invest", as their cost denotes an investment in my health & fitness. (Trying to restablish these right now.)
I bought their Womens Balance-step Sport. A soon as I tried them on, and walked-about in the store, I immediately noticed the difference. BIG difference! The sole is higher than the heel, and the arch support is incredible!
Price: by the time taxes were added, the shoes cost $339 (Canadian). OUCH! However , considering the amount of money I've wasted in taking the bus & cabs, when I ought to have been walking, my new shoes will save me money. With this in mind, I will FORCE myself to start walking to & from work, starting Monday.

I've tried these on and have so far resisted buying them. So you can be my guinea pig!!!
I'll be really interested in hearing how you do with them. Have fun! |

The theory of these shoes seems like the I-rocs. Anybody try them? I have plantar fasciitis and need good arch support. Also, I have very wide feet, so some brands don't work for me.
In my next life, I'm coming back with average sized feet, less sensitive skin, and about five inches taller. |

OMG! Yes, that is my problem. It used to be just awful and I could not even walk when I first got up in the morning. Arch support sandals for around the house saved me and took the problem away completely - mind you, without arch support my feet start to hurt very quickly, even now! |
