I've been through my somewhat wild 20's, and formerly spent three years volunteering as a counselor with Options for Sexual Health. Both my personal experiences, and those while volunteering have taughted me some valuable lessons in life.
Personal: nothing scandalous nor extraordinary. Too much information for some, but know that I wasn't playing adult games until I was nearly twenty-one. Later, I played somewhat of a game of "catch-up". Several mistakes made, a lot of fun had, lessons learned (some, painfully), though none which I regret. Hey, I am a Scorpio, afterall!
Volunteering: I worked counselling women from as young of an age of fourteen, right on through to late-forties. However, it were the young women whom I could most relate with.
I quickly learned what the term "hooking-up" implied. There are a lot of young women whom engage in very promiscuous behaviors. Without breaking counsellor-client confidentiality, I found myself taken aback once or twice by clients' admissions. Just know that some were women whom professionally/educationally ought to have been wiser in their actions, while others might have some soul-searching & emotional boo-boos to deal with later.
Unhooked is a newly released book which I am very interested in reading. It's content will likely be nothing new to myself, but serve to enlighten others whom may not be so savvy to the sexual behaviours of today. `Will be certain to share my impressions of the book once I read it.

OK now I'm worried. The last two weekends my 16 year old son said he "hooked-up" with a girl (and a different girl each weekend). I thought he just meant kissing but now you have me wondering.... |

Ophra did a show on this not so long ago! OMG its scary, truely scary, what they are stuck in and calling it normal. Dating seems to be non-existent and hooking up is the thing! Tragic and very sad. |

Thanks for the heads up, Casper's Mum! I really admire the work you do. I added this to my wishlist at paperbackswap.com and I''m looking forward to reading it! |

One of life's lessons I, and others, seem to have a hard time learning is:
Intelligent people are not necessarily wise.
Intelligent people are not necessarily emotionally mature. |
