I am looking at a few skin care products on ebay that are coming directly from Germany. The shipping charges aren't that bad but I've only ever ordered from the states and usually pay taxes, customs handling fees, brokerage fees. Do products coming from Germany to Canada have the same fees or will they be too high to even bother ordering. I just don't want to get all excited about getting a good deal, then end up paying just as much as if I ordered it from here.

Hi Diana, I have only ordered once ever from Germany and it was through eBay. It didn't have any extra charges, just what was stated in the listing. I haven't yet ordered from any of the online companies located in Germany because I have heard horror stories of the tacked on charges. I don't really know what alerts customs to catch certain packages and charge on them. Maybe it has something to do with them clearly coming from a store. The eBay package looked like it was from a regular person just like when my German mother-in-law sends me packages with Hauschka in them.

But I am curious about which site you have found. I found in my search originally that the shipping charges were insane. It made more sense to buy through eBay from one of the German sellers. But let me know if you have found a good deal.

I am going to Germany, Munich specifically, at Christmas time to "celebrate" with the in-laws. I plan to do some severe stocking up on Hauschka.

That's exactly what I was looking for, Hauschka, on ebay. I have found that the shipping prices aren't that bad and thought about trying to order. You are so lucky you have family there that can send you products. Smile

Oh, in that case I think you are fairly safe ordering from them and you shouldn't get caught up in too many extra charges. I actually thought that the person I ordered from in Germany was very nice and the transaction was perfectly smooth and it was a good deal.

And I guess I am somewhat lucky about the mother-in-law connection in Germany. But, you see, I pay in other ways when she sends the stuff. Oh, do I pay!

Michele
