i want to know which do you think it is better for makeup remover or cleanser?
i have heard someone said cleaning oil is better, because the dirty thing and cosmetics are easy to dissolve into the oil, so cleaning oil is suit for makeup remover.
but i have heard anothers said that cleaning cream's ingredient is much better than cleaning oil, the cleaning oil easy to make you break out!
so I'm very confused of this question.
what's your opinions? |

| I'm no expert here, but from my experience, cleansing oil works much better at removing makeup, but it can also be very drying for me. As for breakouts, I hardly ever break out, but I know a lot of people frown upon mineral oil-based cleansing oils as mineral oil is believed to cause clogged pores. Personally, I prefer Eve Lom cleanser which is more of a cleansing balm. It does an amazing job at removing makeup (including waterproof mascara) and waterproof sunscreen. Although it's mineral oil based, I haven't had any problems with it. |

| I suppose it is a matter of preference and trial and error. I like cleansing oil because I can rinse it off, rather than have to manually remove cleansing cream. I too have used cleansing oils that were drying - and I do not have dry skin - but there are many on the market, and one will surely work for you. Right now I am using PurMinerals Mineral Melt and am very pleased. It is rather thick, which I like, because some of them are runny, and it rinses easily and leaves my face feeling soft and moisturized without any residual feeling. I do follow up with a cleanser because I found that I minimize any breakouts by making sure my makeup is thoroughly removed. |

| I'd say a cleansing oil. My favorite is Vernacular Skinworks Cleansing Oil. The best eye makeup remover I've ever tried is Bliss Lid+Lash wash! It's awesome because it doesn't irritate my eyes nor does it make them go cloudy like oils do. |

As far as I know, cosmetic grade mineral oil is not comodogenic. I tried out various cleansing balms wanting a more natural product than Eve Lom's mineral oil based cleansing balm but none were as effective and quite a few contain things like shea butter which does block pores. |

Thanks for the clarification. As I said, I'm no expert at all.  I don't have problems with breakouts, so there's no certain ingredient I avoid except for SLS, but that's a different story. I myself love Eve Lom, but would love to try something more natural like Neal's Yard cleansing balm or Liz Earle cleanse and polish. |

it seems that many people like to use cleaning oil, do not have a person say using cleaning cream?
i have heard that even you did not makeup, you also should use makeup remover to clean the dirty thing and sunblock! really? |

| Well, if you have oilly or acne prone skin, you would better be careful to use cleasing oil. A lot of people have huge break out using oil. |

I love Liz Earle cleanse and polish (cream)...truth be told it takes a bit more scrubbing than my Organic Pharmacy balm, but I love both.
I wasn't crazy about cleansing oil...but fell in love with the cream/balm method...in my opinion it's less messy than dealing with an oil. |

| I'm still sitting on the fence. I used cleansing oil a long while back, switched to cleansing lotion/milk and have now come back to cleansing oil. I am now using the GOW cleansing oil but have not used it long enough to form an opinion. |

I am currently using clinique Take the Day off cleansing balm. Quite a few raves on MUA.
It is solid in the jar. I scoop a small (very small!) amount with a Q tip. It melts into my skin. It turns into a liquid. I do a light massage over my face; then rinse. My mineral makeup and sunscreen come off easily. I rinse with water and the product has an emulsifier (spelling?) so like a commercial cleansing oil it rinses away clean. I don't find it drying. It is pricey for a cleanser. I paid $34.00 cdn (while GWP was on.) However, it will last months (probably at least six.) The jar is 125 ml. I use this every night. I use a different cleanser in the am (usually Vichy Cleansing Water.) |

I think cleansing oil can throughtly remove the make-up. However, Sothys Normalizing Cleanser is used for normal cleanser afterward.  |

I think cleansing milk is enough for normal cleaning. Although cleansing oil is better to eliminates impurities, the felling for cleaning milk is better than that. So i only will use cleaning oil when i have make-up. |

For me, I first use one of those "2-part-shake- 'em-up" eye make up removers.
Then I use a damp warm washcloth to wipe off the surface layer of dirt and make up.
Next I lather up a cleansing cream on my face and scrub off (gently) with a washcloth.
Followed by many splashes of running warm water.  |

On my opinion the cleaning oil will be easy to cause the block.
It's very interesting,cleaning oil comes from Japan cosmatic concept,but to the US and Europe,ladies prefer the cleaning cream,but now this changes much,woman can choose as they like.it depends on the favorate.  |

| If I wear a lot of makeup, I use cleasing oils. I find creams like Ponds to be really hard to remove and I need another cleanser afterwards which can be rough on my skin. |

I second this. Its very good, i just bought another jar
Also Dermalogica Precleanse contains an emulsifier too and easily rinses away as well. I prefer that to other oil cleanser. |

| Bioelements sensitive skin cleansing oil is the best oil cleanser I have ever used. I have tried many and always come back to it. I use it every night to remove makeup, dirt and sebum. My clients love it and I have never heard one complaint about breakouts, it seems to normalize oil production in oily skins as it does not strip the skin during cleansing. Oil cuts oil like nothing else, so if you are oily (produce excess amounts of sebum) you will especially love the clean you get from an oil cleanser. However, some do not rinse as well as others. Oil cleansers can be rinsed off or wiped off with wet washcloth. Acneic skins can follow up with a medicated cleanser if they desire. Again, a good oil cleanser will not cause breakouts, just make sure it rinses easily. |

helen you crack me up with the 'dirty thing' comments. Sorry Im not making fun of you but it just makes me laugh outloud when you say it. I think its cute.
I have Dermalogica Precleanse - you could try that? It rinses away easily so you shouldnt need to worry about residue left behind to clog pores. |

| I think it depends on the type of oil. I use Pur Minerals Mineral Melt & LOVE it. It does not cause me to break out & it removes all traces of makeup. It also rinses clean with no oily residue. My face feels moisturized afterward, but not at all greasy. I then follow that up with JM's glycolic cleanser. |
