So, I posted a really depressing story a while back about an illegal border crosser and her untimely death.

While I am NOT making light of the hardships these people go through trying to cross into the States (I was devastated over the girl's body we found), the following video, while very true to what happens here in Arizona, is nevertheless really funny.

The Border Patrol is mad as heck. BP does NOT have dash cams according to some of the agents (how was the video taken?) and they are super upset it was leaked on YouTube.

One agent was quoted as saying "well, now you know what we deal with everyday!" Watch the video and keep that in mind. Smile

MAKE SURE YOUR SOUND IS ON!!!!

Yes it's real footage from the Border Patrol. This happens all the time. They find creative ways to fit people into vehicles to smuggled them across the border. One time a lady was found in the dashboard of an oldsmobile...they had created a little space for someone to squeeze in, and then they'd put the dashboard back on.

They found 41 people stuffed into a small room in town last week at a house in a nice neighborhood.
They squeeze fifty people into trucks...they go to great lengths to get into this country.

It is frigging wild! The Benny Hill music makes it seem so funny - but when you think about it it is not funny at all...It is shocking and tragic...41 people stuffed into a little room? A lady in the dashboard of a car? It is hard to believe...very sad stuff..

None of the people that were running out of that van got caught. They deport them right away of course.

The house full of people was especially sad, they hadn't had food or water in days.

People make big money smuggling others. If all 41 of those people each pay 2 or 3 grand...that's a lot.

So what's the answer? Secure the borders, or help them become citizens, or what?

There is no easy answer. Throwing a wall up (which seems to be the U.S.'s solution to everything) won't do anything. In addition...the resources it would take to put up a wall to cover the ENTIRE southern border of the U.S. would be astronomical.

But I also understand that you can't necessarily give amnesty to everyone who crosses the border.

The United States is a country FULL of immigrants. The only group who has native claim are the Native Americans! The rest of us are descendants of immigrants searching for a better life. My family hasn't even been here for 100 years. My grandfather is no different than a Mexican national wanting to come here for better money and an opportunity to provide for their family, it's just that there are more restrictions now than when my family went through Ellis Island.

One thing is for sure...no matter how you feel about immigration, these people don't deserve to die in the desert of Arizona. No one deserves to end up like that. Sad

Maybe some sort of registration/temporary permit kind of thing, where they'd be fingerprinted, photographed, and given an id card and work permit for, say, six months.

They'd be required to maintain a valid address and contact information, pay taxes, car insurance, and not leer at thirteen-year-old blonde girls and mutter obscene things at them!

An angry father just was arrested here for a fistfight about that, my friend was the interpreter.

They just did a special on taxes down here...there are actually hundreds of thousands of illegal/undocumented immigrants that PAY their taxes. Though they risk being found by the government, they want to do the right thing and pay their taxes in hopes it will get them farther in their attempt to get * spam *.

Loved the you Tube...very funny!
As far as the U.S. issue on illegal immigrants goes...I believe the problem isn't that Mexicans aren't wanted or welcome, but more a matter of people jumping the queue, and not following the process.
I support the right of a country to choose the people it opens it's doors to (after all immigration is a privilege, not a right). For that reason there is an application for immigration, and a process to follow. I don't think Americans should feel guilty about upholding that process. Furthermore, I think that Americans who do not have to deal with the impact of illegal immigration , should be more sensitive to those bordering states who deal with it every day.
If we Canadians started jumping the border, can you imagine the chaos you Americans would have to deal with at both ends!!!
