Hi Everyone
I'm new to the board but not new to copper peptides. I've been using Supercop 2x for abt 3 months now on a bad burn which is hyperpigmented, but I haven't had much visible progress, and sometimes its a bit depressing.
The only visible progress I had was that hair grew back on the skin, where previously they disappeared after my accident. This was encouraging but I don;t know if I'm hoping too much for the skin to ever look normal color-wise.
I read that a few people have had success treating hyperpigmentation with supercop2x, and I was wondering how the progress looks like in between.
Under a bright light, I can see that there are many very tiny whitish spots in between the dark burn. I don't know if these are new skin cells or am I just getting my hopes up???
If anyone had a similar experience with using supercop or any other advice, i'd greatly appreciate it. |

Hi Jess,
I am treating scars and hyperpigmentation with Copper Peptides. I have seen great results but I don't know how much is attributed to just the copper peps as I also use retin a, emu oil, TCA etc. The main thing I think is that you need to actually use products alongside the copper peps that will help the skin breakdown the scarred tissue with alpha hydoxy based or other exfoliation products - this is what helps the copper gor further down and begin repair. HTH Dips. |

Perhaps you should ask Dr Pickart? The Skin Biology site has a forum with an area where you can ask him questions. Maybe that would help. |

Yes, it seems that exfoliation can help speed things up. There was a thread about someone exfoliating vigorously with an eyebrow brush.
There's lots of info here, onwww.skinbiology.com, and onwww.skinactives.com about scars. I had a single icepick scar, and it's gone now. Might have been the supercp or the Fraxel. |

Hi Jess
I have had some success with treating hyperpigmentation with Supercopx2 and I didn't use strong exfoliation nor Retinoids at the time.
It did seem to kind of break up REALLY slowly, a bit like you are describing; I still have a slight 'fringe' around where it was - but I only did this for maybe 3/4 months 2/3 times a week. And I don't know if the results of a burn would change in a similar way to mine which is sundamage.
I find I do go through an intermediate stage with the Supercop cream or Supercop x 2 where my skin feels much denser if I pinch it; not soft, not plump. Then once I stop using it seems to build up to thicker, softer skin.
I theorise that this is the action of the old proteins being destroyed (while I'm using) then when I stop I'm building up new collagen. I'm using it in cycles because of this.
I've just started supercop creaming again because one side of my face just looks so much better than the other (I did a 6 week half face thing 3 months ago) and it responds to my other actives better.
I'd say stick with it, but you might want to also rest from it for a few weeks. |

jess_79, I'm wondering the same thing about time scale on this issue.
I've been using BND for a while, and it easily got rid of all the sun damage on my decolletage. Apart from one stubborn bit, right in the middle.
I've started putting supercop2 on it, and it has various effects on it.It flattens it and makes it shiny and smooth. Sometimes it goes darker. Then when I exfoliate it, sometimes a tiny bit of it breaks open, like it's about to peel right off, but not with smooth skin underneath,it actually is more like I've pricked it with a needle. Then I leave it. Once, in fact it came off and I was left with a sore a bit like you get on your knee if you fall over. But it just came back the same afterward.
I have another piece of hyperpigmenation I'm treating the same way, on my forearm. That is fading, relatively quickly, and seems quite straightforward.
Perplexing that there are different types of sun damage. |

yes, that's what I'm afraid of. I would imagine that sundamage like yours is very easy to fix as the cells are healthy, but my burn was quite bad and deeply damaged the skin area. its a second degree burn from a hot exhaust pipe.

Thanks for the tip. I've been putting it on twice a day, everyday.
I'll try and give it a rest once in a while and see what happens.

thanks, I'm currently using it with lacsal. I'm quite wary of TCA or something harsher, cos I'm afraid I'll be worsening the damage, when I'm trying to rebuild the stem cells if I can.
Thank You Everyone, I will keep up with my Supercop 2x regimen.
I'll post again after several more months to report on any progress or otherwise. |

Its been just over a month after my initial post.
Some of the lighter colored tiny dots on my burn have widened and "joined" to form larger dots. They're now clearly visible to me, and not just under a bright light like before.
The amazing thing is that I've stopped using supercop 2x for the past few weeks. I've been too busy and run down at work to remember the daily applications. I just completely ignored my scar.
I only restarted my supercop 2x application yesterday and thats when I noticed the progress.
I also remembered that Molly had advised me to take a break once in a while, which I inadvertently took! (Thanks, Molly!)
On a side note, after the break, my skin is now more sensitive to supercop 2x. I can feel the slight sting again (they way it felt when I first started with this stuff) and had to cut down to using only a tiny bit.
I'm also taking MSM and Vit C religously these days. Hopefully it will help with the rebuilding some. |
