Review: Jurlique Chamomile-Rose Aromatic Hydrating Concentrate
What is is: Some sort of face exfoliator
Ingredients:
Rose, Chamomile Oil, Rose Oil
This is the blurb from the EDS site:
These water soluble essential oils help soften dead skin cells and prepare the skin for the deep cleansing action of Face Wash Cream, giving the skin a healthy glow.
How I use it:
A few times a week, after cleansing my face with Dr. H cleansing milk, I add 2-4 drops of Chamomille-Rose water in a bowl of warm water, dip a clean wash cloth or cotton ball in the water, wring it out and gently swipe over face occasionally using a press and release motion. Repeat 7 times (that’s the number on the bottle!) Then follow with Dr. H cleansing cream.
The verdict:
I bought it at the end of winter when my skin was feeling dry and miserable. So, I’ve been using it on and off for almost 3 months. I love the smell but on the whole, I don’t feel there’s much to write home about as a dead cell slayer. I think that steaming one’s face prior to doing the DHCC once in a while would work as well. You can also use it in the bath but I haven’t gone that route yet. |

I love the smell of this.
I actually use a few drops of this mix with water to spritz my face, instead of using the \
rose freshener they have.
this calms both my senses and skin. |

sounds good as a facial massage oil. I love the fragrance of rose. But Chamomile doesn't smells good. |

I think if you just purchase rose water and chamomile water from some place like fromnaturewithlove, you will get the same product and effect, without the cost and marketing. Seriously! I can understand creams costs - as it takes a lot to make them - sterilization, formulation, preservatives, testing, QA etc etc. But for simple stuff like distilled floral waters that some companies market as 'their' special invention and sell it to you for 300% of the cost is just unbelievable. Distilled floral waters is a byproduct of distilling essential oils, so the water contains a small percentange of the essential oil. Rose floral water is $14/liter and chamomile is cheaper - about $12/liter. I buy lavender, chamomile and rose waters and wipe my face daily and wash my face daily in it. |

i tried these years ago and i cant remember if i liked them or not. do they really help exfolite by and soften the gunk in your pores? if they do i may want to try again.. bad memory!!!
if they do soften the gunk in your pores i plan to get this and use with a microfiber wash cloth as i find that the microfiber cloth is already very very good at manual exfoliation for me.. just looking for a product that will boost that! |

Hi Zverenok,
I'm really interested in trying some hydrosols, I'd love to know where you buy your rose and chamomile waters from. They seem very cheap! And what a wonderful thing to use everyday! |

I have tried the lemon-lime and rosemary-sage AHC but not the rose-chamomile. My next purchase. I like Jurlique's AHCs. It softens the skin so that exfoliation of dead skin cells will be easier. I don't think it's a floral water. They are rather strong and cannot be used undiluted. |

Yeah chloes you're right, the aim of this product is to soften the skin to assist in the exfoliation process. It's to be applied after you cleanse, as Agent OO-CAT explained..
'add 2-4 drops of Chamomille-Rose water in a bowl of warm water, dip a clean wash cloth or cotton ball in the water, wring it out and gently swipe over face occasionally using a press and release motion.'
and before you use your exfoliator. BTW the Jurlique Daily Exfoliating Cream kicks butt!!
I have combination skin that is very reactive and I find this very soothing used 2-3x per week.
Vicki_cooler, it is not a facial massage oil. |
