My friend whose hair was severely dry and damaged (it looked really bad) told me yesterday she went to Korea Town to get her hair deep conditioned. The treatment normally costs $100, but they gave her 20% off because she'd have to come back two more times every 2-3 weeks. So the total would be $240.
She was urging me to get it done, but I don't have that kind of money, and my hair is not bad. It's back to its original condition now. It's never been perfectly straight, and it got a lot of body. I'm ok with it.
Has anyone else ever had the deep conditioning done? How much did you pay? Is this the normal price for it?
My friend said that after 3 treatments, it should cure her hair. She got the Japanese straight perm over and over for the past 2 or 3 years. And the last coloring just fried it. Now after the deep conditioning treatment (which will last 2 weeks) made her hair look like when she just had the Japanese straight perm. |

Pretty sure deep conditioning treatments go for $50-$75, depending on how swanky of a place it is.
I'd chuck out the $12 and pick up a jar of L'Oreal Nature's Therapy Mega Moisture from Sally Beauty myself. |

How exactly is deep conditioning? If I leave my regular conditioner in hair long enough, would that be considered as deep conditioning as well? |

i think it depend on your hair situation, if your hair is not bad, i think it is not worthy to do that! |

I would wait until your your friend completes her treatments. See how her hair looks, then take it from there. |

My friend told me it took several hours to finish the deep conditioning process. Sounded a bit like the Japanese straight perm. If you had that done before, you know your day is shot at least for 4 hours. She called me at 5:30 pm when she was going to Korea Town, and called me back at 9 pm to tell me she just got done.
She said they wash her hair and then put this conditioner in her hair and have her go sit under this thing we all see in the salon where it covers your head. I have no idea what it's called. Then it shoots out some hot air followed by cold air alternately for some time. I don't remember what else was involved, but of course, blow drying and straightening with a flat iron, too.
However she wasn't just there for the deep conditioning treatment. She also got her colors done. So I know the deep conditioning treatment didn't last 3 hours. |

Isn't it supposed to be similar to Kerastase? |
