Yes this is definitely true for me. I excuse my * spam alert * by reasoning that I am old enough to need reading glasses (actually for some years now) so if I don't use a magnifying mirror I won't know what the world sees. It is mostly a harmless * spam alert *, although there are a few depressing moments. Great for eye makeup though.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one.
Take care all,
MJS |

Yes, sometimes I think that mirror is more evil than beneficial. I mean, do I REALLY need to see that closely into all my pores? I think my skin would be in much better shape were I NOT to look in it and find things to "mess with". Although I do find it handy for plucking eyebrows. If only I could have restraint. |

I don't have a magnifying mirror and I never look at myself when I'm wearing my glasses so I always look soft focus and airbrushed |

So smart! I rue the day I bought that little mirror - the urge to pick takes over and is very obsessive! (must throw out mirror, must throw out mirror....... |

Me too!!! I couldn't bear to look into a magnifying mirror. Even soft focus is more than I can take.

Me, too! It's so disappointing when I put my glasses back on. |

I've got two of these evil things -- one 12X and one 15X -- stuck onto my bathroom 3-way mirror!
With increasing years and decreasing eyesight, it's amazing how much can escape one's attention. I was oblivious to smudged mascara, nose hairs, eyelashes growing in the inner corner of my eyes, and a bad case of l-o-n-g facial hair. One day, though, my husband took his life into his hands and gently pointed out that I had a "billy goat thing going on" (giant black chin hair). I laughed at the time but was actually really embarrassed that he'd have to mention it to me.
I'm too much of an idiot to wear glasses, so magnifying mirrors now keep stuff like this under control. |

That's hilarious!
I had a BF point out a chin hair to me when I was eighteen and I was so embarrassed I checked for them every day of my life since then. |

It's funny -- I can't stand looking at my face as a whole, but give me magnification and I'm off in some sort of fugue state. Or should I say, crack high. |
