I am a newbie here but have placed a few orders. Totally love it since it totally deleted all my concerns about online shopping. great online shopping experience.
I am a Chinese and as you might know, all Asian women are addicted to whitening products. A friend recommended Decleor whitening arromaessense( years ago it was a different name). I have tried tens of whitening products, including Diorsnow, Shiseido's whitening line, but none of them really worked miracle. I ordered this product anyways.
It was just when I was taking vacation in HK where I had to go outdoors a lot. Everynight I applied a layer of whitening arromaeesence. The funny thing was each time after vacation my friends and colleagues said I am a tanned little girl. But that time people actually asked if I have been hiding indoors all day since my skin glows and got whitened so obviously.
Haha, such a big secret! Then I know I found IT! Since this product works like very fast and obvious that I can't continuously use it. Ususally I apply it for two weeks then stop till I feel I need whitening again.
Anyways, been using a third bottle, and totally in love with it. |

I've ever used up two bottles of this white essence, it could help a little bit, but not big miracle at all. But the Vit C serum in this line is really amazing, just too dry for me, so I just quit. Now I'm interested in Japanese whitening products. |

This sounds interesting...can I ask;does it actually whiten, as in make you paler? Or does it just brighten your skin tone? |

My experience was it just brighten the skin tone, and not last so long, it won't diminish brown spots. |

This may be a dumb question but I've always been curious:
May I politely ask why Asian women want to lighten their skin tone? |

Asian women think the skin tone more lighten or whiten is more beautiful! |

tsjmom,
honestly, i donno y. but i do see the idea of whitening originates from the japanese and their skincare.
from THERE, we, chinese, absorbs the idea of whitened skin means beauty. and it becomes a most deep-rooted idea among us === whiten means beauty i guess, it just that with fairer skin, we look more ...... h.... beautiful ? :> |

I guessed it is more of a traditional/cultural ideal. I know pale skin used to mean a "higher" class as they didn't have to work (outside), but I didn't know if there was more to it than that.
Isn't it ironic that in the west, people are trying to get their skin darker
Since I'm very fair with curly hair (botticelli type curls) and blonde hair/blue eyes, I always joked that I was born in the wrong age |

Exactly! This is what we Asians can never understand. |

I've been interesting in trying this range for a while now, so thanks for the great review. At the moment I am using a few of the Clarins White Plus range products which have been quite good. But I am a huge Decleor fan, so I'm definitely going to give this range a go! |

Sorry for the late reply!
^_^ actually I totally agree to the above opinions of admitted Chinese.
Personally my skin tone is yellowish and due to homone problems, I had some dark spots around my eye area, not quite obvious but visible. Asian women tend to to clean skin which means no pimple. Thus those cute neighbourhood girl with some pimples around nose might not look that cute as we think.
My experience with this whitening arromaessence is that it brightened my skin tone within one month. But in the first week, I actually found the dark spot got more obvious and later understood that it is because the skin got brightened and the pimpled took time to get brightened. Anyways, I have been trying Kose, Shiseido Dior's whitening products. They are not bad but Decleor's the best!
Just for your reference, Kose' herbal mask (one of their best seller) is very very good though some said it is a bit dry. But a few of my friends tried and all thanks me for recommending.
I got some from EDS and some from HK. Amazingly, HK's Decleor price is not cheaper than what I got here. So I will absolutely come here to shop Delceor.
I have been trying so many products including top brands like Lar Praire which is totally a waste. I came back to Decleror. Totally a Decleor fan! |

Do you use any moisturizer on top of Decleor whitening? I used up a bottle of La Prairie's whitening essence years ago and it worked rather well, but nothing amazing. Certainly not worth the price and waiting list here (yes, LP's whitening line is on a waiting list here!!) |

Hi, Andaman,
I was using Decleor Hydra floral and loved it. Used it up and just bought a new bottle. Did its name changed to Hydra floral anti-pollution? Some of my friends dont like it and think it is not moisturized enough. My skin type is normal to bombi.
As for LP, I am currently using its skin caviar and its essence of skin caviar eye complix. I can't complain more! Maybe this is for aged skin? It didn't work on me a thing! The REPRE also gave me a few samples of other eye cream including eye sculpting and raidance eye cream. Quite upset. Still wondering whether I should just give them away. Such expensive crap
I am thinking of sticking to my sisley econologicalcompound for summer and Decleor's Hydra Floral for winter. Still expecting wonders! |

I'm the total opposite. I love LP Skin Caviar Luxe Cream for summer when my skin isn't so dry. There's no miraculous effect, but it works well on my skin. As for its Caviar Eye Complex, it's just not moisturizing enough for me at all, but it certainly does make makeup stay in place! With Decleor's products, however, it's a COMPLETE different story. Practically, every single I've tried made my skin so irritated, itchy and flaky. It's possibly the worst skincare line I've ever used. But I'm looking for a whitenening product and I just can't seem to resist all this raving although I know it probably will irritate my skin too. |
