I read somewhere that Retin-A causes light hair growth! Has anyone found that when they used it? I recently started using Retin-A because I'm on Obagi and noticed that I have facial hair when I never did before! Is there some alternative to Retin-A? Is anyone noticing more facial hair because of Retin-A too?? |

sigh...yes I noticed a pretty good increase in facial hair. In fact, the next time I go to my derm, I'm having them give me a script for Vaniqa. My skin is loving the retin-a (and Obagi) so it makes it tough to give it up! |

Would Obagi work without the Retin-A? I thought the Retin-A was only supposed to help with the peeling and wrinkles. The exfoderm is actually the product used for exfoliation anyway. I think I'm going to try using Obagi without Retin-A and see if the facial hair goes away eventually. |

20 years on Retin A...and No! No hair growth issues. I don't buy that claim a bit! |

THANK GOD! I thought it was just me! I noticed some extra hair on my face too (mostly on my lower cheek area). I've always had a bit more than other people (I thought) because I had a stove blow up in my face when I was 8. Luckily, I'm blonde, so it isn't too noticeable. I'm going to ask on my next appointment too! So, we can compare answers. One thought I had...maybe we're getting rid of excess skin cells...so we notice it more? (just me trying to "logic" my way into an answer). I've also noticed more facial hair as I've aged (43 now...44 in 16 days!) |

Perhaps it doesn't affect hair growth on everyone, but it definitely did me. This was the only thing I had added to my routine when I noticed more hair growth. I've always had too much (IMO) but now it's just gotten ridiculous. This is why I will be getting a script for Vaniqa soon. I've heard retin-a having this affect on other women as well, so it's not just hocus pocus! |
