so you know how you go to a beauty counter at a dept. store and sometimes that "test what kind of skin you have" by using some kind of a machine (i'm thinking specifically here about shiseido who use a kind of horrible, face-magnifying camera thingie) or some other kind of contraption. i'm not talking about the ones they use at the beauticians, but the 'over the counter' ones.
what are people's thoughts on those?
do you think they represent a true picture?
or are they just trying to get me to buy their products *which of course i do because i am a junkie*? |

I'm always suspicious of measuring things like that. I think it's better to ask the real expert, that is the person who owns the face! |

Personally I think the Clinique skin-pigeon-holeing system is pretty iffy. But I have not had Shiseido do mine. I WOULD however like to get one of those weird skin "photos" done where they show you the underlying sun damage to your skin. Has anyone had that done?

I would like to have the skin damage photo done. Although the advert we have where they use that camera at the moment scares me a bit. I use really high Spf now, but I never used to. I'm sure if I could see the damage I would probably never leave the house again. |
