I read an interview with SJP about her line of clothing. Do you know where it will be sold?

I think it will be sold at a place called Steve & Barry's...I've never heard of this shop..I'm a little bummed out because I thought I might be able to get it in Canada...Anyways, the stuff is cute and I love that everything is under $20! I wouldn't dress head to toe in it but a piece here and there with a beautiful handbag or a pair of Fluevogs and you could have a really top-notch look (and extra $$$ left over for eds shopping Laughing ).

Thanks for letting me know; I know that I don't have that store around me. The line sounds very tempting though. Perhaps I could purchase online (and, yes, have extra left over for EDS)

Interesting, though I doubt it will grace the racks of Canadian stores. Will have to check out the line, the next time I head over to Washington state.

To some degree, yes - but scroll through the collection...the black dress, with short shirt sleeves and collar is fabulous!!!!(IMHO, of course it is less than $20!! There is nothing in the collection that exceeds $20 in price! I think it is just GREAT - and I love her philosophy too: that looking pulled together is every woman's right! And what about the houndstooth coat? Under $20? What a steal! You can dress that up with a hot bag, killer shoes and you're good to go! The only thing that kind of turned me off was the fact that she wasn't her line of shoes when she appeared on Oprah....I think it is exciting though..SJP is one of my generation's fashion icons...I think it is FAB that she is promoting fashion that won't necessarily "break the bank" so to speak. Oh, I don't know...perhaps I got all caught in it because I was watching it all unfold on Oprah....there was such a "lose your chains" feeling about it all...((sigh) Tomorrow morning I'll probably regret posting this! I'm from Canada, and I've actually been to a Steve & Barry's. We go to Orlando every year and always hit the S&B for clothes for my teenage son. If you are ever in the states and have teenage kids, that is the place to go. I don't think any of their clothes are over $20.

Nice clothes. A couple of the pieces caught my eye. It sucks that we can't get it in Canada. Sad

Steve and Barry's specializes in university wear for cheap. They have them in a lot of college towns in the U.S. (except TUCSON!!! but we had one in Ann Arbor...boo). I always get my University of Michigan t-shirts from S&B when I'm back in AA. I am always sad that they don't sell their stuff online nor by catalog.
I load up on t-shirts, shorts, etc...for cheap!

Sigh. Crying or Very sad

Hmmmm..and I thought that Sarah Jessica Parker was "all unique" with this "everthing under $20 thing" I guess this might mean that she is just putting her name on a clothing line developed by some bargain store....Geez...oh well, I wish ya'll has seen the Oprah show...I feel kinda silly for being so "gung-ho"...but it seemed so exciting at the time (I still like the black dresses and that houndstooth coat though Very Happy )...SJP looked quite pretty -- one of the few stars who hasn't had mounds of surgery done to her face...It is kinda strange when you see "natural" starlets...I'm so used to seeing airbrushed-looking faces that it almost seemed strange to see eye crinkles and laugh lines!

I like the clothes-- sophisticated, yet comfortable looking. It doesn't seem you can order them online, though, which is a bummer. She should have rolled it out to a market like Tarjay or something.

Edit: I just searched and there's one of these stores in my mall (I didn't even know it). I'm gonna check it out...

S&B used to just be a really inexpensive sportswear store...some stores have a variety of team logos and merchandise...others, like the ones in college towns, are just that particular school. I remember being a freshman and loading up on christmas gifts for the family because of 4 for $20 t-shirt sales and the like. Then they switched to "nothing over $20" sales.

I still would love to take a look at this line. Unfortunately unless I drive up to Phoenix, I won't get to...can't believe Tucson is lame and doesn't have a S&B! Hmm. I guess if I'm ever back in Ann Arbor I'll need to check it out.

If anyone checks out the line personally, keep us posted! Smile

Thanks Pudoodles...I took a look last night and am now very curious about the quality of material and stuff.

You would think that at least this line would be available online!

....I'm feeling pretty sketchy about it...I am worried that it will be of poor quality....we'll see Wink and yes, it is a shame that we can't purchase it online...makes it pretty inaccessible if you ask me (given SFJ's assertion that EVERY woman has a right to look pulled together!)..I'd pick up the houndstooth jacket and the black shirt dress for sure!)

Actually if it's anything like Steve and Barry's it'll be really good. They have great quality when it comes to their clothing. I have tons of stuff from sweatshirts to running pants and shorts from them. I never by my Michigan wear from anywhere else because it is way more expensive and not as well made. My absolute favorite t-shirt JUST fell apart 6 (yes...6) years after I bought it there. Luckily I bought a replacement when I was back in AA over Christmas Wink

Oh well then, that is good!! Very Happy I was wondering about it...It didn't look cheap on the models...the double-zip grey hoodie was incredibly cute Exclamation ....and it looked like that good quality sweat shirt material...do you know what I mean? Some sweatshirt hoodies look cheap..then there are the ones that look like really good old-fashioned "sweatshirt material" ..that is what the Bitten double-zip hoodie looked like! The really good stuff! And the double-zip feature was just as sexy as can be!

Meh, most of it looks like anything you can get off of the clearance racks at Walmart or Target for 5 bucks or less. Not impressed..... Sad

I'm actually a big fan of these designer Target lines that have come out in the recent years. The designs are finer than regular chain store styles. But one thing I hate is that everyone is rushing to get the stuff too. I know the TopShop range with Kate Moss has gone far as restricting customers to 5 items, to stop the mass buying and re-selling on Ebay.

I am SO happy you posted this Pudoodles! I'm a big time cheapo when it comes to buying clothes (not skincare! Laughing) as I just hate to spend more than $20 on a piece of clothing. This sounds PERFECT for me! And, they have one just down the street from me. WOOHOO! And I loved about 3 of those little black dresses. At least I can afford to buy them all if I want, for less than I could buy ONE at say Banana Republic. I mean for pete's sake, it's all basically the same cotton anyway.

Thank you Pudoodles!!!

I went to Steve and Barry's today. (Never been, it's HUGE) Anyway, the Bitten line doesn't roll out to the stores until June 7th. They had posters everywhere already, though. Guess I'll have to check it out in a couple weeks!

There's one right across from where I work at the Block. I've been there many times and never went into the store or maybe never noticed it. I'll wait till the line comes out and see how the quality of material will be.
