My mom and my aunt both have some genetic disorder that seemed to effect them both as they got older in which some of their eyelashes fell out. My mom tried both Vaseline and the Lucia (some leftover that I had) which both failed to work. Then she went to a specialist and she was considering have eyelash extensions or even surgery. Then I'm not sure if it was my aunt or the specialist who told her to try Vitamin E, which she did. Suprisingly her missing eyelashes grew back and she says her eyelashes seem to be healthier and thicker now. Has anyone else tried Vitamin E for their lashes and if so how was their experience? Did it just thicken your lashes, or lenghten them as well? |

I have not tried just vit E on its own but I have made the lash recipe from the DIY section and it is working just fine, my bottom eyelashes are where I have seen a noticeable improvement. I have heard that also castor oil is good for eyelashes which is also in the recipe. |

You mean taking Vit E internally or rubbing Vit E on your lash lines? |

I actually tried this technique. I first read about this in another forum. Since its relatively easy and cheap, I decided to give a go. I simply use a makeup brush (for one for concealer or eyeshodow) then brush the VE oil onto my lashes. I did for about a month. I didn't notice any growth. But lashes seems to be a bit thicker than before. |

You could buy the vit. E capsules(food supplement), break the capsule to get the oil. |

I gave my mom the same tip and she is having lots of success.
Another thing that worked for me....
I took an old sephora sample jar (tiny white ones with screw top lid) and put some castor oil and a drop of vit e and that is my nighttime eye treatment. I dab a little on each night and I'm having great results.
I'm planning on cleaning out my ardell lash tube and filling it with this mixture for easier application. |

So how much Vit E would you put on your lashes - 1 capsule?
Will the Vit E oil keep ie if I break several capsules and put them in a tube, would the oil turn bad? |

Yes one capsule is more than enough for both eye lashes.
I would say break one capsule at a time, JIT be more hypnogenic. |

I tried it, but you have to do it carefully, you don't want vitamin E to get into your eyes. In my case vitamin E irritated my eyes. |

I guess applying it can be quite tricky. Going to break open one tonight. |

I am currently using Caster oil (when I remember) It was cheap from the d/s - $3.00 or so for 100ml. (Bottom shelf in SDM in the laxative section.)
I was using Ecrinal lash serum and loved it. But I can't find it anywhere in Canada. I was buying at SDM. Ardell is not available.
I think I will try the Vitamin E caps. It probably would work better than the caster oil as it is usually thicker.
I also have Elizabeth Arden eye wish capsules. It is very runny; sort of a dry oil. I might try one of those too. It is a lot of product in a capsule for the eyes. BTW I suggest passing on the EA; better eye products out there. (Of course if it works for eye lashes I will revise my opinion!) |

You can usually get vitamin E oil in a bottle in health shops. You could then apply it with a cotton bud.
Vitamin E oil is a super antioxidant so will keep you don't have to worry about it turning. |

hello,
I think trying taking Vitamin E to lenghten eyelashes is a good idea. Why not one try it n lose nothing? Vitamin E is good 4 maintaing good eyes n skin but don't overdose. |

Does vitamin E just add moisture or does it actually make them grow?

Did you try on your lip yet?
I heard someone use Vitamin E instead of Lip Gloss. |

Is it the oil that just makes the lashes look thicker or is there actual lash growth? It'd be neat to try this but I rub my eyes lot, and often while sleeping (bad habit) so I think it may be a little risky for me. |
