Hey All,
I am looking for solution for Wax and Razor Bumps. Whenever I remove hair from either my legs or arms I develope bumpy skin which look really bad and I cant wear shorts and skirts
If I grow my hair back skin turns to normal but cant do that anymore in summer time.
I follow moisturizing and exfoliation regime religiously but its of no use.
Please suggest me some effective method. |

I use OTC cortisone cream after shaving sensitive areas...works like a charm for me! They also make stuff for this...seen a couple (Sally Hansen, Epicare...or something like that). Haven't used any though... |

Thanx for your advice.
Will it help in old bumps and ingrown hairs.
I generally get bupms after 3-4 days of hair removal and it stays untill i grow back my hair again. |

Ritas,
Yes, I believe it has! And... I also very gently exfoliate my bikini area (where I had problems). I will use a scrub, or mostly one of those round "scrubbies" w/shower gel on it...and I don't have that problem anymore. But, be really careful! You don't want to do it very hard or very much...or it just hurts and aggravates the problem...at least it did for me! |

I also suggest PFB Vanish, BUT if you're using the wrong shave cream and razor it's not going to solve the problem.
Things that have worked for me:
Shick Quattro razor for women. I've used it for years; nothing (and I've tried them all) works better. Change the blade often and rinse after every stroke when shaving.
Kiss My Face shave lotion. This is the Best! It really provides a barrier between your skin and the razor. I went back to regular shaving foam at one point and it felt like the razor was grinding against my skin. Yuck. This comes is a lot of different scents. I've used vanilla earth, lavendar and shea, and key lime. The lime is my fave so far.
When I'm done shaving, I coat my legs and bikini area with my homemade body oil. It's avocado and sesame oils with clary sage EO. THEN, I apply PFB where I need it, after that dries.
HTH! |

DOn't laugh- immediately after shaving/waxing I smooth on a thin coat of Preparation H. It works! I have fair, Irish skin, with darker and courser hair. |

I apply Thayer's Witch Hazel with Rosehips - this is the brand of witch hazel without alcohol, extremely soothing after shave or too much sun exposure. |

I think anytime you cut the hair off at the base, it's going to prick under the skin and irritate during regrowth. But I found that if you use a bikini trimmer device (or even a men's moustache trimmer!) and trim it just BARELY above skin level, you won't have this problem. The brand I use is called Bikini Touch, and it works great! |

The Dermanew Crystal Resurfacing Soap has done wonder for my bumps and skin in general. It's very efficient and made the skin (on my upper arms) a bit red flamed in the beginning, but after using it for a couple of times it just left the skin soft and bright. |

I got my Bikini Touch at a Bed, Bath and Beyond store, but I remember visiting the website and seeing that you could order directly from there (as well as refill blades, etc.) - http://www.asseenontv.com/prod-pages/bikini_touch.html
However, their site says it's currently unavailable. But I just did a Google search of "bikini touch" and came up with that plus a bunch of other vendors, so I'm sure it can be tracked down online too!
And seriously, before that, I used a men's Conair moustache trimmer and it was in fact slightly better in that it was a sturdier appliance - the women's one looks nicer (it's pink and is slightly more delicately designed), but they break easily and the battery power fades rapidly. I might just go back to a men's one, to be honest! |

I don't have this problem, but my boyfriend does when he shaves his face. He also has bumps on his arms. I advised that he exfoliate his face and body every other day. He uses my Be Fine exfoliating scrub with brown sugar and almond. After he washes his face, he uses Gillette shaving cream-shaves then adds after shave. He gets like a few bumps, but it is a huuuuge improvement from before. I believe exfoliating is a major factor in reducing red bumps or maybe it is just from opening the pores with warm/hot water. |
