Ok, for some reason TIVO recorded Xanadu on Encore this morning.
Since I have never seen it....and now I know why....but regardless, I need to know if anyone else who has seen this movie if they noticed the dancer without underwear??
I know it sounds weird, but I'm serious! I was so shocked, I ran a search to see if I was the only one....and there is no mention of Miss No-Panties anywhere. For those who might remember, I thought this might rank up there like the phallic (?) castle on the cover of the Little Mermaid some years ago (which was removed!).
Has anyone seen it? I know its weird, but not reading one article addressing it makes me wonder, ya know? All these people on the internet saw this movie when they were small children and not ONE mother was picketing drive-ins due to dos ba-jingo. That blows my mind!
Oh, it is during the final number with Kira and her sisters singing at Club Xanadu. Its the sister in purple. Its hard to describe this film without cringing a little, but the part I saw was after the tight rope walkers and a close up of an Asian 'sister' in a purple top, then the purple dress 'sister' with a black male partner. She does this kick and Oops! there she is! As an adult, I immediately stopped TIVO and called to my husband to verify panty hose or no (as he is an expert in such matters  ). His reaction was, "Hey! Cool and No she's not wearing pantyhose.
She does grace us with another 'peek' when she is on the center stage/star (still in the hidious 80's purple dress) and still standing next to the Asian lady. They do more kicks and I swear she is the only muse 'sister' not wearing knickers.
Ok, to clarify. I'm not gay nor do I spend my weeknights going frame by frame on TIVO looking at ladies who-whos....ok, except for today I do not do these things.
I just thought it weird that this movie is some sort of cult classic and yet....no mention of miss peek-a-boo.
Has anyone seen this film (and dare admit it) and seen this part?

OMG, no, I never noticed this--- time to TIVO it myself, lol!!! And as bad as this movie is, I will not only admit to watching it, I'll admit to owning the soundtrack!  |
