I just read that shea butter contains a substance similar to latex. I also read from various sources that some latex sensitive individuals tolerate shea butter alright. I was wondering if anyone has any personal experiences to share...
I am specifically concerned with unrefined shea butter. |

wow. i was wondering why shea butter seems to make me itch. i'm pretty sure it was unrefined (bought bulk at the coop). and a doctor told me years ago she suspected a latex allergy. so i'm thinking this may explain some things for me.
(i can't remember if avocados and bananas give me problems, as the latex allergy can make you allergic to those too... i like them anyhow.) |

Yes, Shea Butter is similar to latex. I have a defined latex allergy after years as a surgical assistant and also react to shea. |
