Hey All,
Just wanted to have suggestion from you guys.
I recently read on N. V. Perricone's site that easter C is better than any other form of Vitamin C as it is fat and water soluble so it is more easily absorbed into the skin and is able to penetrate the plasma membrane and is no onger harsh and irritating to the skin whereas traditional forms can be.
If its true then i was just wondering that is it better if we make the home made vitamin c serum with easter C instead of ascorbic acid.
Currently I am using home made c serum using
ascorbic acid as per the recepie given under DIY thread.
Looking for your suggestions and experiences if by any chance somebody has already tried it. |

I made the homemade Vitamin C serum and really hope it works as well as the Modus brand.
I started with gylcerine - toooooooo sticky for me
then read about the propylene glycol - but decided to stay natural -
so I just whipped up a batch and used Jojoba oil in place of the glycerine - and it is DIVINE!!!!!!!
Hope it works! |

I agree that Ester C maybe less irriating but I don't think it will be as effective as L-Ascorbic Acid which is the only form of Vitamin C that is easily absorbed by the skin. Other forms of Vitamin C, such as C-esters and magnesium ascorbates must first be metabolized by the skin before being able to be absorbed. |

Thnks for your opinion...I am feeling better about my serum
But one more question if you know the answer..I am using ascorbic acid not L-ascorbic acid..is this okay or just ascorbic acid is completely useless? |

Awesome marketing idea for the DIY vendors: can you make a multi-C serum that in cludes both ester and Vitamin A (and maybe even E), and call it Easter C? What a pleasant and cute name! And who doesn't want Vitamin A on their skin? |

Great Idea!! i am always tempted to do so but I am afraid of introducing too many products to my skin. but slowly after month or more i'll start mixing vitamin A also in my serum. I hope both are not conflicting and wont have any harmful effect. |

And I will organize the cage-match that will ultimately determine who of the DIYers gets to use the name! |
