I noticed Asian brands have products called "essence." They don't have "serums." So my question is, in Asian brands, is an essence product the same thing as a serum? |

Which product are you thinking of? In Asian brands, essence usually refers to something that's more liquid in consistency than a serum. But the application step is similar to a serum (i.e. after toner and before moisturizer). The more liquid ones you may not be able to spread on your face like a serum. You may have to wet your fingers and pat the liquid on your face with gentle pats or else wet a cotton pad and use that to spread on your face. Whitening essences usually have a slightly thicker consistency and can be spread with fingers. You have to double check application method with the sales assistants. |
