I found a package of these at the store..not sure how to use them for exfoliation of skin flakes from retinoids.
Do I wet it first? Just rub it over the face?
Help! Thanks! BF |

Barefootgirl,
I am new to cleansing my face with microfiber. Hope someone who knows more then I will step in and comment here. Are all microfiber cloths the same? I was under the impression that you need a certain type for your face.
Once we find out the answer to the above I recommend that you wet your cloth with warm water and wring it out. Microfiber is more powerful then it feels. Use small circular, gentle motions to cleans your face. Once clean you can turn the cloth over and go over your face one more time. Again....small, GENTLE, circular motions. Do not apply much pressure. Be very careful around the delicate eye area.
When I first started using microfiber I used it once a day for the first week.

You are supposed to use a microfibre cloth that is "dermal grade". Whether this is just hype or not I don't know. NCN Skincare sells them, you can also find them on Ebay. |

I did not think a microfiber cloth would cleanse off all of my makeup but after trying one I am amazed at how well it cleans my face. After I use it my face is cleaner looking than it has ever been with any type of cleanser. I'm going to order one for my daughter.

I'd second the 'caution' part, think of it as a powerful scrub. Tiny circular motions work the best for me, and you really do get that 'glow'! Sadly, I've found that it didn't work so well for blackheads, but I've got IFP's BHA solutions on the way for that! |

Unfortunately it did not clear up my blackheads either. I did not have blackheads until I started using vitamin c serum. I may have to stop using C serums.

I'm glad someone started this thread. I thought microfibre cloths were those cloths you buy for dusting. Good thing I didn't go buy any for my face. |

Diana I use the cloth from NCN and it is great! I wet it then wring out the excess moisture and gently rub in small circular motions.
I don't know the quality of the other cloths available but I know the one from NCN holds up very well coming out of a gentle cycle from the washing machine. HTH! |

What is NCN? Is that a store or brand name? |

I use the Jane Iredale one. I like it. It is used to cleanse the face with just water. I don't think it is used for exfoliating. |

Huh? Are you sure those are Stan's instructions are? I really would recheck that cause I don't remember that being his jist at all.
I'm pretty sure you can use it at least once a day if not more. Just use common sense like others have posted here about being gentle with pressure and using circular motion. I use the Clarisonic at least once a day and use the sponge whenever I don't use the Clarisonic. I also use the sponge to wipe off cleanser, masks, etc.
I'm curious so I went online and this is what it says on Stan's postings:

With the MicroDermabrasion Cloth, harsh cleaners and soaps are not necessary, so you can clean your face as often as you like without fear of drying out your skin. (However vigorous scrub treatments should not be administered more than once every 7-10 days as per the included instruction sheet.) |
So, I take it that he means use the item often but limit a deep microdermabrasion scrubbing to once a week (or as tolerated by your skin - everyone's is different). |

thanks lunarmm!
i guess i was thinking that this little itty sponge is more 'lethal' than it actually is!!
well i used it again this morning with my cleanser but made sure it's pretty damp. didn't want to be too harsh since i'm now in the middle of the l'oreal acneresponse peel regimen due to the presence of zombie zits on my chin (zits that keep resurrecting.. no matter how dead you really think they are, and almost always in the same area, my chin!!) |

You can always use it without cleanser as well. |

I wash my face with daily cleanser, then wet the microfiber cloth with distilled water, wring out the excess water, scrub with gentle and small circullar motions. I do it more on my nose area for I've much blackheads, I use it twice daily but sometimes only at night time. I've been using for 2 weeks, but still can't see it works well on the blackheads as said (perhaps mine is too serious), however, it do remove some skin flakes on nose and forehead.
Pls remember the cloth can be clean with water only, no soap, detergent...(it was mentioned on the instruction) |
