Hi everyone!

I am trying to come up with a new skin routine, and would really appreciate everyone's advice. As it is, I have horrifyingly bad skin. Anything seems to make it break out, the pimples never seem to go away, and when they finally do the scars are just as bad. I've been doing research here for years, and have been intrigued enough by a few product lines to take the financial plunge. However, I have quite a few questions that I would sooo appreciate all your expertise with. Please forgive my ignorance. I am terrible at this sort of thing (I'm at heart a clueless tomboy), and am doing my best to make sense of it all. My skin problems feel out of this world.

First of all, I am purchasing the naturderm (epidermx) line. What I can't tell from the website is which product has CPs, and whether it is enough as far as CPs go. I would like to add a retinoid and an additional blemish clearing serum (my acne is monstrous, folks. I'm thinking Juice Beauty) to the mix, and I'm not sure where to incorporate these into my routine.

I also want the Silken Pearl paste. At which point with the epidermx line would it be best to use this? And speaking of routine, I already have apple cider vinegar, should I incorporate this into the routine, or does the epidermx line take care of it?

Finally, and thank you so much for baring with me here, I'm extremely intrigued by the dermarollers. I'm young (22), and I know a lot of people don't recommend these products for young people, but if I don't fix my severe acne and scarring problems soon, I swear I'm going to die of depression. I think the dermarollers are an extremely interesting alternative to acid peels, and am trying to make up my mind on which way to go. I also don't know where to incorporate either into my routine/with which products.

Eventually, if I'm still desperate and not completely broke, I'd like to try the Prolagene gel on my scars. Anyhow, as I said, I'm about to break the bank so any input would be appreciated. I wouldn't spend so much if I had not been worrying about what seems to be my ever-worsening skin problems for approximately eight years.

By the way, one of the only moisturizers that has been a HG for me is Trader Joe's jojoba oil. I don't know why, but that product saves my skin every time when almost anything else aggravates my acne. I do a happy dance inside whenever I think about having found that product. It soaks in so nicely (I have extremely tight pores) and never caused a pimple (an absolute miracle for me) and seemed to stop the weird feeling i have often of sweating beneath my skin (hard to describe). Sulphur masks have also proven very helpful for my skin.

Ok. Thank you thank you thank you! I will be purchasing today or tomorrow.

Have you seen your doctor or dermatologist? I would consult a professional's opinion before venturing out and buying a bunch of products. I find that pharmaceuticals (I have a specially formulated gel that I get by prescription) result in clearer skin, rather than investing in a bunch of different lines.

That's all I can add, sorry Very Happy If what you're doing seems to be working, then ignore what I said, hehe.

I agree! I spend time oh the time I spent. Then let's talk about the money I spent, to try to find something to clear my skin. I talked to strangers with clear skin, I talked to friends, I watched friend's routines, etc. For the life of me, at the age of 30, I could not believe that I could be cursed with bad skin. I am sure my stress made it worse. This went on for 9 more years, before I finally got in to see a derm. Once I did, my godness it was like night and day. I did not come home from work each day and have 3 new zits, I did not wake up in the morning with 3 more. Now, I get them sometimes (if I could leave my hands off my face (I am a picker) some small clogged pores...I would probably have close to perfect skin. Honey, please go see a derm and let him prescribe something if your skin is that bad and/or making you crazy. Today, I do not wear makeup, small amount of glow powder. I wash with baking soda (every third day) and cetaphil daily. Cheap Cheap Cheap and I have clear skin, due to my RX of tazorac and benzeclin.
Good luck Very Happy

Thanks guys. I guess I have been going pretty crazy- good to hear some common sense. I've been planning on seeing a Derm (I actually went as a teen and nothing worked, and I'm a bit afraid of any longterm medicine (though I did try a few, refusing to upgrade to acutane when they weren't working well). I have a feeling things would go better now, though I think I'll want to start with a topical. Anyway, thanks.
