Hi everyone,

I've been on Obagi for almost 4 months now. Currently I'm using tretinoin 0.5 but i am running out. I'am wondering if i should switch up to 1.0? I;m not peeling with 0.5 anymore and i have some stubborn blemishes that seem to be fading but not fast enough for me. Will it help if i went up to 1.0? I know i should contact my derm, but their office sucks so i'd rather ask you guys first.

Also how do you guys feel about using the skinceuticals retinol? would it be the same thing or should i stick with the tretinoin?

I welcome any advice! thanks!

I started Obagi using .05 Retin-A and then switched to Retin-A Micro .1% and found that it really sped up the whole Obagi process. It will probably make your peeling worse for a while but the Retin-A Micro is a "microsphere" formula that is supposedly easier on your skin. It is very strong but I loved the gel texture--the cream formula was really thick.

PS--retinol is NOT the same as Tretinoin! Tretinoin (ex: Retin-A Micro) is prescription strength. You will not get the same results from Retinol as it is a consumer, over-the-counter product with a much lower strenth of the active ingredient.

Definitely consult your derm first before you move up to 1.0.
