I have been looking for the best daytime moisturizer with a good spf and have been unable to find it. I love philosophy's hope in a jar, but the version with spf is hard to come by and has been out of stock on their website for quite some time.
what are your favorites? |

It depends how high you want to go. I always use Le roche Posay 50 in the summer and just my normal moisturiser as they say that over 15 does not work as well as using spf on its own. do not know where you live but Laura Mercier has spf 15 and its lovely, Kanebo do spf 30 also lovely but very greasy and leaves whit film if you live in a very hot climate you would want a very high spf here in Ireland we just need the umbrellas at the moment |

I just bought Juice Beauty Tinted moisturizer in spf 30 from EDS. It hasn't arrived yet but it seems to be a forum favorite. It also comes in a darker tint as well as non-tinted. |

Im using DDF photo-age moisturising s/s, and its great!
I have hormonal acne and an oily t-zone but this s/s doesnt leave a white cast. My skin is moisturised but not in a oily/greasy way. And i didnt suffer any break outs from it! |

I have been using Aveeno Positive Radiant SPF30 daily ( I would use a SS if I spend more time outdoor). It has natural soy extract so helps to even out skin tone. I am pretty with it. The 75ml bottle seems last me a few months now. When this runs out, I'd like to try the one from Juciy beauty as well. |

Hi yeahyeah,
Have you ever used sofina or sunkiller SS before? i am wondering how these compare to DDF?
i just got my juice beauty tinted moisturizer with SPF but am not trying it yet as i am doing a chemical peel. |

I'm finding that some physical s/s are moisturizing as well. My favorites are DDF Organic and NIA24. I don't use a moisturizer with s/s anymore; I get good protection and far fewer breakouts with physical s/s. Then I follow with MMU. |

no im afraid i havent used any of those but im def gonna try the sofina s/s when i go to HK.
is juice beauty moisturiser really that good . i have only tried their green apple moisturiser and i absolutely hated it. it was sticky, left a white cast and made my skin really oily within half an hour of applying it. |

I really do love the sofina, i think you will really like the texture and finish. if only they'd make it with a higher PPD, then that would be the perfect SS.
you know the JB tinted moisturizer with SPF is my first JB product so i will let you know how it works out, but the tint seems darker than my skin tone but then again i do have new skin from a retinol peel i just did. I dabbed some on, and the JB stung, i figured it would since it has a bunch of fruit ingredients.
sorry the other JB products didn't work for you though!

Yeah, Sofina's is really light in a pretty high SPF24. I've been using Z. Bigatti's latest Silk Sunscreen. It's not physical SS but it's moisturizing enough for my oily skin and a great base for makeup without any white residue. |

Avene's reformulated 50+ emulsion is very nice. Ive just ordered the full size after trying a sample.
Not greasy or shiny at all.And I can wear it with Mineral makeup |

Do I get drummed for using cheap stuff? The only spf product that has ever not turned to grease on me is Neutrogena spf 45. I put on a layer and then mix it with mmu and put that on as a base. Then I put on my own mmu (heavy on the zinc oxide and titanium dioxide). It sounds like it would look like kibuki makeup - but it doesn't. Thank heavens. I'm desperate to keep the sun off me. I would recommend it for somebody who has oily skin. If it doesn't work, it's not a painful thing to trash it. |

Thanks Kristen. I havent had much luck with Juice Beauty anyway...its too sticky for me . Hope the tinted moisturiser is suitable for you when your skin calms down a bit.
Maria1- i too have used the La Roche Hydraphase spf30...but the smell was too much for me, too perfumey and i had a terrible reaction to it. |

There is some information on Sunscreen in this site. I hope this will help you to decide which sunscreen to use. It is too bad they did not test all the sunscreen including Avene, Le roche Posay, and...

That's too bad you had a terrible reaction. I wish LRP would take the fragrance out of all their products because so many people are sensitive to fragrance. LRP has a great line called Toleraine without fragrance but they do not have an spf in any of their Toleraine products. I'm glad you are happy with the DDF product you are using. I haven't tried it but I have read some great reviews of their products. |

Would be great to make the LRP fragrance free, because I dont even have sensitive skin but still reacted badly to it!
You should try out the DDF. I wouldnt have purchased it but when I placed my first ever EDS order, i got it as a free forum gift! |

Thanks yeahyeah! I see they have a dry skin formula so I may give it a try and the price is reasonable. |

Hi, just to clarify i am using sofina nuance up spf 50 which is not a moisturizer but just a SS by itself.
Jane, i assume you're using the sofina rise which has moisturizer? I don't think spf 24 is very high at all though. for me, i try to use anything at or above spf 30 but prefer 50.
Hi yeahyeah,
i really wanted to stay away from JB because it uses apple juice as a base so i would think maybe a lot of their stuff would be sticky and sounds irritating to me. but because of such positive reviews, i decided to try it anyway. surprising, their tinted moisturizer w/ spf isn't sticky.
i am still peeling, but will update when i do use it.
I really hate artificial fragrance and color in skin care products! why would they do that??? yuck.

Hmm was it really not sticky?
Because I've tried the green apple anti-oxidant serum and the blemish serum- both of which I hated due to its stickiness and it doesnt seem to be strong enough for my problem skin
Maybe I should request samples of the tinted moisturiser in my next EDS order---which is soon |

Hi yeahyeah,
it didn't seem sticky to me when i applied it to my chin (took it off immediately since it irritated my new skin post peel) nor on the back of my hand. i haven't used it full faced yet, but i will let you know.
i think a sample is a really good idea though. i hope you tried swapping out the other JB products though. i usually use "disagreeable" products on my chest, breast and arms, but if those are sticky....have you tried mixing them with other stuff?

Hi Kristen
I too have used products i didnt like on my body!
But if the products are relatively new and sanitary, i sell them on ebay quite cheaply. I have never swapped before, I've tried but I dont know...I dont know that person, I dont really trust them and there seems to be too much hassle with swapping. Although, since joining this forum, I wouldnt mind swapping with members here (read that theres a EDS group on Facebook for swapping items?)
I've already used up the JB on my hands and sold the blemish serum for like £1 or something, because i cant see myself using it for anything or anywhere else. although now, after reading the aspirin mask thread, i wish i had it so i could try adding a couple of drops of the serum in my mask! |
