Hi, I have been using this for about 1 year.
I use it mostly in the summer months (with my topical sunscreen as well) for extra protection.

I am using Heliocare, along with Sofina Nuance Up. I can't really comment on its effectiveness though b/c I have no idea how to determine this. But, it does make me feel better to have that extra protection, especially in the summer months. |

Thanks for remembering me Havana8!
iaimei - Like the two posters above said it is great for the summer months. It is my HG during summer. Worth the price IMO. Have a cheap NZ supplier is you are interested. HTH Dips |

Thanks dips18 for your offer on the supplier. I found this sitewww.heliocarepills.com and they are based in Vancouver, BC here. So I am going to call them to see if they have any physical stores or local distributors. Their price is about $48 US for 60 Capsules. Is that reasonable? Thanks again. |

$48!!!! USD??? Gosh that is a lot IMO. Check my NZ supplier's price (click USD to get price)

Yup that right on this site it is $28.82 USD - pretty sure even with shipping it would be less than $48USD but not sure. However buying within is always less hassle than buying from abroad so it might pay to buy from the site you mentioned. Just all this skincare adds up so I'm always on the lookout for good reasonable suppliers. I buy the 3 package deal just before summer. Dips |

Oh I am so glad that you told me, dips18. I had no idea the price could be this much big difference. I almost get robbed. How many do you need to take a day? How long the 60 capsule bottle can last? I will email your site to see how much shipping would be and if they ship to Canada. Thanks! |

Hey no prob - love to be off help.
You only need to really take one capsule a day - think it says not to take more so one bottle will last 60 days - almost two months. I take a break from it over the autumn and winter period or if it looks like a sunny day I use a cheaper alternative - I wouldn't recommend using it non stop - think the body needs a break from everything. Good luck - pretty sure they will ship to Canada. Let us know is they don't. Dips |

I actually get my sister who lives in the States to buy from her local pharmacy and ship it to vancouver to me. I can save the custome duty this way. |

Hi Jakee. I took this everday over summer and then stopped over winter. I please to restart taking it again when summer starts. I find it very effective, helped calm my overinflammed skin down when I first began taking it and has helped (along with several other things) fade my pigmentation. I wouldn't take it everyday long term - think a break from anything is important for the body. |

Is it available at most of the bigger pharmacies in the states? We go to Florida once a year, and if that's the cheapest way to get it, then I can just buy it from a pharmacy while I'm there. |

I continue to take it daily and will likely re-order from the supplier Dips graciously shared once I run out. Factoring in exchange and possible duty/taxes, it works out less expensive than what I have paid in the past. Thanks, Dips! |

If anyone knows the optimal time to take this before sun exposure, please let me know. I have called to of the on-line vendors and gotten no help. The business called "heliocarepills" appears to be a doctor's office in Vancouver -- when I addressed my question to the person I reached, she said I'd have to speak to my doctor about it. Gee, thanks -- and you and your MD boss are selling these on-line? The heliocare site did not call back. Next stop, DermaDoctor... |

Your most welcome Havana!!!
Melanie - I take mine first thing in the morning so it ends up being at least half an hour to 45 mins before I go out - seems to work fine. |

Do you have any specific reason to not take it long term? Some things (vitamins/minerals, etc) are ok for daily use.
Any studies on this supplement? For safety? |

I just ordered it from dips NZ site. Shipping to Kentucky was only $9.00. I hope this product will help with the sun that manages to get through my strongest sunblock.

A lot of my health books mention Heliocare and they all essentially say the same thing. Please keep in mind this is written like their professional opinions so nothing is proven 100%. Basically taking Heliocare is going to reduce skin sensitivity to light and hence overtime will make the body's ability to block the sun become stronger and stronger. Which means this ability then also blocks the skins absorbtion of vitamin D from the sun. Vitamin D that we need! So to combat this you can either take cod liver pills or take a break from Heliocare. I guess the producers of Heliocare don't want this advertised. HTH Dips |

Thanks for the info dips. Mine arrived the other day, so I've started on cap per morning. It will be interesting to see if it helps my splotchy pigment.
