La Mer is the only creme I use. In fact I just plopped down over $500 at Neiman Marcus for Creme, Concentrate, and the SPF 18 FLuide. I really love this line. I would not spend the money if its was not truly amazing. It heals and calms down all my skin irritations. It works wonders for redness and makes my skin softer than a babys bum. I have to say though I felt that it worked better a couple years ago on my face, not sure if my skinds getting used to it or not. But I still love what it did in the past so I am hooked now. IF you want to try and not spend tons of money I would buy the creme first. I have heard people are liking the creme better than the gel creme that they came out with about a years ago. |

This product is way to heavy especially for combination skin and having read the ingredients I can't understand why people buy this? |

What is so great about La Mer"miracle broth" seaweed?
I use a face soap with 2 kinds of seaweedin it and a seaweed night cream that has seaweed extract and hyaluronic acid and collagen and seems to have no fragrance or petrolium products.
I only tried a sample, but recently bought a jar and will get in next week hopefully.
Ingredients: Deionized Water, Bladderwrack Extract,Polyglycerylmethacrylate,Stearic Acid,Isopropyl Myristate,Cetyl Alcohol,Glycerin, Hydrolyzed Elastin, Hyaluronic Acid, Collagen,Propylparaben,Triethanolamine,Methylparaben,Benzoic Acid,Imidazolidinyl Urea
-this is From mario badescu website.
Has anyone tied the La mer makeup?
I was interested in their tinted powder, until i learned it is made with talc.
but it is cheap, something like $70 for 30 grams... |

I got one jar of La Mer for free (happy that did not pay for it). I was under 40 then, so I could not even use the whole lot. It was too heavy and broke me out. I used it up on my hands!
I usually test creams with burning scars also, it did not work for them either (the other overpriced line, la Prairie has some ingredients that prevent scaring, at least). La Mer does not absorb easily and stinks.
It is basically Sea Kelp Bio ferment, isn't it? |

I do like CDLM, and it does a good job of hydrating your skin but it is so expensive! Nivea is similar, and does hydrate but it doesn't last.
Astral cream I find is actually more like La Mer and is the same price, if not cheaper, than nivea. Seriously, check Astral cream out- they sell it in pharmacies/chesmists. I know Joanna Lumley uses it. |

I posted the ingredients list for the (German) Nivea Creme on the Nivea Vs Creme De La Mer thread.
It'd be interesting to have all three compared actually! My nana used to use Astral and absolutely loved it. I even posted a link to a 90-something who looked 60-odd who swore by good old Vaseline.

I also put a linky on there warning about people using Nivea in sample tubs of Creme De La Mer on ebay, and how to tell the difference. http://forums.ebay.com/db2/topic/Health-Beauty/Question-On-The/2000438401
I absolutely refuse to spend a huge amount of money on topicals, I think it's the (one of) the biggest unexposed scams on the planet. The claims some of these companies make..how do they get away with it? |
