Basic skin types:
Normal
Combo
Dry
Sensitive
Oily
I go back and forth as to which skintype I have. Some days I feel like Is possible to have all of those above? I mean I have experienced all of them at some point. Are there basic tests to determine your skintype? Please advise. Thanks. |

I agree that often skin is not so easy to categorize. Many of us have areas that are more dry or more oily, and that can change from day to day. Unfortunately, so much seems to come down to trial and error. I would recommend trying the book, "The Skin Type Solution," by Dr. Leslie Baumann. She has a multiple choice questionnaire such that the results let you know the type of your skin: dry vs.oily, sensitive vs. not, prone to pigmentation vs. not, and wrinkled vs. tight. She also gives recommended skin care regimes and products based on the results.

I strongly recommend you to read this book by Dr. Leslie Baumann "The skin type solution". You will answer a comprehensive self assessment questions and at the end you can determine whether you skin is dry/oily, sensitive/resistant, non-pigmented/pigmented, wrinkle/tight. She also provides recommendations for skin care by these basic types. It's a good read. |
