| C's should be used in the AM to get full benefits of photoprotection from free radical damage that can occur during the day due to exposure to UV light/pollution/smoke. You can also use at night (if your skin is not too sensitive)if you wish to further enhance collagen production. But most use once each day in AM, and then some sort of AHA or retinoid at night. |

| C serums should always be put on clean, dry skin. Wait until absorbed before putting anything on top of it. Once absorbed it cannot be washed off. Don't use anything with copper in it though (Creams, lotions). It will ruin the effectiveness of the C. |

I use mine AM (on clean skin) and only a few drops are needed. I wait a while for it to absorb and then put on a moiture booster (Dermalogica one at the moment), wait for that to absorb and then put on moisturiser.
Depending on your skin type, you might also find you need to use something with hyaluronic acid in it (this is why I'm using the Dermalogica moisture booster) as vit C tends to be drying.

Thank you!
Mabsy that is a good tip because i didn't know it could be drying!
By the way i was in the body shop the other day and they have just bought out this new vit c range (in an orange plastic tube so i wasn't tempted) but they had this 'concentrated' formula (10%) and they told me you shouldn't use it every day, just twice a week, as it is very strong.
do you think these high concentrations of vit C may be damaging in the long term?? |
