Hi Everyone, I've been a long-time lurker and I think I actually have a question that hasn't been asked! (or I'm a bad searcher!) Anyhoo, I just got the entire Transformation system of the Naturderm line (Triple Lavender Face Foam, Epidermx II, Chrstyalx, & Naturdermx) and have been using them morning and night. I have combination, acne-prone skin with what I consider to be pretty severe hyperpigmentation (but I'm sure fellow acne-sufferers will agree it can ALWAYS get worse...so I'll knock on wood! ) that I'm hoping the Epidermx etc. will take care of. Here's the gist of my question: I was pretty happy with how my face was feeling with dr. hauschka normalising day oil and have since cut it out cause I don't know how to fit it in to "the system". My skin ends up feeling a little too "tight" although otherwise happy with the products so far. It's just my foundation (I use dermacia md lycogel) goes on SO much better when using the Dr. H oil. Prior to starting the Naturderm system, I was doing the Oil cleansing method with 50/50 EVOO & Castor, homemade apple cider vinegar toner, and tea tree to spot treat. Have always had acne throughout all that I've tried so now I'm trying this...love the product description and had great service from the company. I think it's too soon to tell, only a week. Still have some NEW cystic ones coming through...does it EVER end? Anyway, for the Naturderm users, do you use it morning and night? Anyone throw in the Dr. H day oil and if so, in what step? Any feedback appreciated. Thanks for reading! |

Hi Ollie, and welcome to the board! First things first: If you are still getting cystic acne (I agree with you--- does it never end??), the first thing I would do is ditch the Dr. H oil. Even if you thought your skin was doing ok with it, I swear, the Dr. H stuff gave me the nastiest cystic outbreaks of my life and it took MONTHS to get it all out of my skin. So, just by quitting the Dr. H stuff now, if that was causing the problem then your skin won't clear up right away, but it will at least start to move in the right direction. That being said, it definitely sounds like your skin needs more moisture right now. The weird thing about Chrysalyx is, I swear, your skin WILL adjust to it. When I first started using it, it actually made my skin feel tight! ("THIS is a moisturizer??" I asked myself.) However, if you keep using it, your skin will acually adjust to it and it will become adequate on its own. That being said, in the interim you might want to contact Amy and see what she suggests for using along with it. Amy told me to use camellia oil or any other oil that agrees with my skin when my skin needed a moisture boost. My oil of choice in Zenbiotic's Moisture Enrich since it seems to be the only oil on the planet that won't break me out, so you might want to try that one. And if the tea tree oil is working for spot treatments, I would say by all means keep it up. Hope this answers some of your questions and I hope your skin keeps looking better and better. Hang in there, and keep us updated! |

HI Ollie and welcome to EDS!! About the cystic acne, I can tell you that NO it never does end! I'm fifty-seven years old and I have never had bad acne--well yeah I did when I was in the seventh grade many moons ago--but last week WOW did I ever get a bad one--a cystic problem that is. I'm putting Carekate's blemish "buster" on it, along with something I have containing benzyl peroxide (sp?). I swear, I get one of these things and it's literally several months for the thing to go away completely. Anyone have any other ideas on how to quickly get rid of these annoying zits that last forever? |

Ladies, thanks for the comments and nice welcome! I feel like I already know a lot of the board just from being an expert lurker...it's still a little weird being on the "other side".
liz, the manslayer, whose name i love: I will check out that moisturizer. i also have some camelia oil so I may have to bust that out. I'll give it another week or so to see how my skin adjusts. So really? No Dr. H oil, huh? I was so sold on the idea of combatting oil with oil.
Just when you think you're on to something...!
femme: pleeeease don't say the words 57 and acne to me in the same totally related sentence! ugh. i almost choked on the airborne i was downing before bed. noooooo. I refuse to believe it. Have you seen "The secret?" Can we THINK ourselves all the way to acne-free??!
And more importantly...does the way to this thinking come in a pill form? |
