For anyone in the UK, QVC has a Laura Geller Today's Special Value kit today, think it's about £36 and contains Balance and Brighten, a sculpting powder, eyeshadows, eyeliner, lipstick and brushes.
Just wondering if anyone has tried these products? I've done a search but nothing much seems to come up. They make it sound fabulous on QVC but then, they want to sell it!
Would love to hear your opinions.

I have Balance and Brighten. It works nicely with my medium tone complexion. The coverage is light unless layered. It does as advertised and evens out my skin tone. It is a great product to carry in my purse for a quick make over. Mineral makeup does not look good on my mature skin. Balance and Brighten is solid but goes on somewhere between a mineral and liquid. The color is great for my medium coloring. I don't know how well it would work for the very fair or dark complexions. |

I bought one, I thought it would come in handy for the holidays. Also liked the colour of the lipstick, I had one of her kits before that had the spackle in it and one of the lip gloss/gels. The lip glosses are avery nice creamy texture and have good level of colour.
I'll let you know how the B&B works on me as I'm quite pale. |

Ooh yes please, I didn't go for it in the end as I have spent a fortune on Decleor this month. I'd be interested to see if the Balance and Brighten is comparable to Bare Escentuals foundation. I wouldn't mind finding a less shiny replacement for that! |

I'd be interested to know also, I ummed and ahhed about getting it, but thought £40 was a bit pricey for something I haven't tried before, although I know I could send it back, usually I end up liking 1 or 2 items in a kit and keep it for that reason, so it ends up being even more expensive as I don't use the other stuff! |

That's just me all over Sarah, I get stuff with the intention of sending it back if it's not good, and even when I'm not wowed by it I just never get round to sending it back. Before you know it I've then lost the original packaging, the returns slip etc...
I was reading on a shopping tv forum last night (and it was an eye opening experience!) that some people order TSVs on the day but say they're going to pay by cheque, which gives them 10 days to send in a cheque for it. During that time they can either cancel the order if they decide they don't want it, or phone up and pay by card instead.
This had never occurred to me! Far too often I buy things on TSV days because I'm worried about it selling out before I've made my mind up properly, so might bear it in mind next time I'm on the fence!
They were also saying on this forum that if you send lots of things back, you eventually get a letter about it - not sure what the outcome of this is though, I've never had one.
Very interesting! |

Funny you should mention sending stuff back because I think I send too much stuff back and I was wondering if they do keep tabs on how much you're sending back. Having said that they encourage you to order, try it out and if it's not right send it back! I have ordered loads of stuff I wouldn't usually order because you can send it back. |

Someone had suggested buying boxes of Thorntons chocolates, eating half and sending them back!
Not sure I'd have the guts for that kind of thing - but you're right, they do encourage people to do that. I remember one show they were telling people to buy a digital camera, take it on holiday, and if you weren't impressed with how it performed on hols to send it back!
It's a bit of a grey area, I do wonder with things like the Decleor 10-Day Radiance stuff whether you'd be able to use the whole lot and send it back if it didn't work, things like this aren't really very clear. |

I did buy some lilies and wasn't happy with them as they weren't the colours/scents they were supposed to be so I contacted QVC and shortly afterwards I got a refund! I didn't have to dig them up to get one though! |

That's very good of them! I have generally been quite disappointed by their customer service, I once had a Liz Earle TSV go missing and it was three weeks and several phone calls before I was sent a letter to sign to confirm I'd not had it, then another fortnight before they acknowledged the letter, and just to add insult to injury the TSV kit had sold out on the day so I couldn't even have a replacement!
Worst of all, they didn't even apologise. I was just told "it's not our fault, it's the courier." I know many other companies would offer some kind of small compensation, eg free p+p next time but it doesn't appear to be their policy at all. Having read the posts on that forum, I can see why - there are literally hundreds of people who have had parcels go missing with the courier - not very good! |

I purchased a Laura Gellar TSV from QVCUK a while back and that contained a balance & brighten which i was excited to try after seeing it advertised. I have to say that as i have fair skin this product was to dark for me and you could really tell that i had makeup on even when i didnt use to much of the product.
i use bare escentuals mineral foundation in medium which i absolutely love

Hi Hannah, Laura Geller does a balance and brighten for fair skin now, though on QVC it sells out and takes ages to come back in stock. I get medium bare essentials but found the balance and brighten was too dark for me, but the fair was fab. Alas its still out of stock but Im going to NY in June so WILL be stocking up.
I've sent many things back to QVC, and never had a letter, and Ive used all products before sending back, sometimes over half. its a fab service they offer but I wish they would combine the postage |
