Hi guys, i was wondering if any1 one here has had problems with mac select cover up causing breakouts? I just bought the product a few days ago along with their Studio fix powder. The lady who sold me this, told me all their products are water based and non-acnegenic. Does that mean their oil-free? well i did a test and i put a bit of the conealer on a piece of paper and an oil ring formed around the make-up! im nervous about applying this because i dont want my skin to breakout(i have very sensitive acne-prone skin)! soo if any1 has had some bad(or good)results with this product please let me know! thanks every1

Hi,
I signed up to the board when I read your question. While I love MAC lipsticks, eyeshadows and blush, I was not able to use their powders/foundations.

I too have very sensitive skin which is prone to clogged pores & white heads. I was using the studio fix for about 3 months last winter when I started to break out really bad. I finally fiqured out that it was the studio fix and stopped using it. It is a really heavy product and my guess is your skin can't breath and if you are not using a heavy duty cleanser to clean your face, you will break out.

I fixed the break out by using Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant which I love on my sensitive skin.
The only foundation I have ever been able to use without breaking out is... Aveda. And believe me, I have tried them all

FYI, I also started using Jurlique Herbal Recovery Gel & Rosewater at night which I LOVE!!!

Good Luck

Just wanted to say that I love the Dermalogica Microfoliant. And I also don't like MAC foundations. I have been using Laura Mercier Oil Free foundation and it does NOT cause breakouts, and the finish is awesome!!

I've used M.A.C concealer (Studio line) for 13 years, and have never had a problem with it. (And, yes, I am an old-school M.A.C-user. It was a better company before it was Lauderized Mad ) I also used the Studiofix powder/foundation forever, and never had problems with it. However, the concealer that you have mentioned sounds new, and I have never used it. I'm sure that it is non-comedogenic, but that the oil you've seen is actually a polymer or form of silicone (i.e. dimethicone). It ought not clog the pores, and neither should Studiofix.

Blemishes are often the result a few things: unthorough cleansing, bacteria in make-up/make-up brushes (keep things CLEAN, ladies!), touching the face, hair products, hormones, and using too rich of a moisturizer. Do you know how many times I've seen people "double-dip" into their concealer with their make-up brushes? It's such a bad habit! Think of it this way: you're using a brush or your fingers to cover your blemish, and then re-dipping these into the concealer. Hello? Bacteria! Contamination! Use a cotton swab, toss it, and your whole face will be happier.

Cleanse your skin with the right cleanser. If your skin is merely combination-oily, don't use something for oily skin; it will dehydrate the skin, and cause more oil. The same goes for other skincare products. Balance & hydrate the skin. Exfoliate it regularly with something gentle, like an enzyme mask.

If you're really & truly concerned with your M.A.C product, take it back! As a Lauder-owned company, they must do this, no questions asked.

I have used Studio Fix in the past and did not have any problems (apart from it looking too powdery sometimes).

Btw, I love Dermalogica Microfoliant too! Cool
