Hi everyone
I've been using Philosophy's Microdelivery Peel 2 step for about 2-3 years now with no problems. My skin is normal to combination, no sensitivity probs before.
I've used it tonight, done everything exactly as I always would, and my face started burning and is the colour of a lobster! I look like I have terrible sunburn. It's bright red and feels hot and itchy. I've just put some decleor neroli on to soothe it, and that isn't helping either.
What's going on?! I've never had issues with this stuff before! If anyone can shed some light on this I'd be really grateful. At the moment I look a bit of a mess. Not having sensitive skin I don't really have any products that I can put on to soothe it.
Thanks!

I'd get some pure aloe vera to soothe your skin and take it easy on skincare for a bit.
I don't have any medical expertise, but I've heard that the body can develop sensitivity to allergens at any time, even when the substance has never been a sensitivity trigger before.
One thing to watch out for is that, having had a bad reaction, your skin may be more generally reactive for a while, so be careful. I had a bad reaction to an AHA product some months ago, and for a couple of weeks things like vitamin C serum that I had previously used without a problem caused stinging and irritation.
Hope your skins calms down soon... |

Didn't someone else just have a similar reaction with the same product? I could not find the thread but I am pretty sure someone did.
I wonder if there was a change in the formulation? |

It's the same pot I've been using for months, so I think even if they have changed it, I'd have noticed before now...
Just wondering if maybe my skin can only tolerate the stuff in it for so long. I use it on average 2-3 times a month with a good week in between each treatment but have never had issues with it before.
It's calming down a bit now but still has that 'hot' feeling as with sunburn and is very red across my cheeks.
Bit gutted as I'd just ordered a TSV from QVCUK with another one of these in! |

Just wondered if you had washed your face in hotter than normal water before hand as this can sometimes cause a similar reaction. |

There's a lot that can cause this:
Did you apply it to a completely clean face? If not, it might have interacted badly with another product (e.g., sunscreen).
Did you just exercise or take a shower, sauna, etc.? If so, your pores might have been more open than normal, allowing too much of the product to penetrate.
Have you started any new medications or supplements lately? They might cause sensitivity.
Have you started any other skin care actives that might have changed skin sensitivity? (e.g., Retin-A, copper peptides, etc.)
Could the product have expired and gone bad?
In any case, I agree with flitcraft about being careful for several weeks because your skin may be sensitive/over-reactive for awhile. It's happened to me a couple of times. |

you'd better go to see doctor.
It seemed that many ppl got problems using Philosophy's products. |
