She said she used Dr. Hulka's Liver Flush but I think it is Dr. Hulda's Liver Flush.
The recipe and directions can be found here along with, alleged, photos of gallstones that people "flushed out".
http://www.curezone.com/cleanse/liver/huldas_recipe.asp
I say alleged because gallstones do not float. These things are just gelateous globs of the olive oil and fecal matter, etc... that is why they float.
I am not saying a liver flush is not a good thing, I am just saying that you do not eliminate gallstones with a "liver flush". I am skeptical, obviously, of this cure. However, I also feel that if something is making you feel better then that is great!
Dr. Hulda Clark has a clinic in Tijuana, Mexico and claims she can cure HIV, AIDS and any type of cancer. You can read about her here

Medical experts have also recommended that individuals who have gallstones do not liver flush.
Again, I think an occasional detox is fine for otherwise healthy people but you can detox your body by drinking water for a few days or some clear fruit juice. Your body is designed to detox itself.
But again - to each his own and if you feel better after doing detox or a flush that is great.

Hello everyone,
this is my first time posting a message and I thought maybe I could put a helpful word out. I have done many many detox flushes before and I am very experienced in this kind of health issue. I for sure think that when doign a liver flush you need to be careful and follow all instruction. I have heard many bad things that could happen from too strong of a liver detox. There is many other detox flushes that work wonders when you use them. For example, BioFirm by New Nordic. I used this for 6 weeks and it was amazing. My acne cleared up beautifully, my oily skin calmed down and I felt great. It slowly detoxofies so you don't get all the bad side affects. |
Thanks rubie13 for your info |

I've done one before and I have to say the benefits are *astounding*
The day after I do one I have perfect 10/10 vision (I normally wear glasses) - I know this sounds weird, but normally I can't read the board in class without glasses, and I could the day after without glasses.
No dark eye circles - This was actually the first time I noticed it because they were so faint, but they were completely gone, almost lighter than my surrounding skin
No facial swelling at all - Scuplted cheekbones and jawline, no puffiness in the eye, my nose was even slimmer and more defined.
I felt "happy" - a very weird euphoric feelings, like you're in the sun and don't have to worry about pigmentation, aging, cancer etc lol.
Acne - Basically gone, it didn't disappear completely, but the inflammation was gone
Redness - My skin was very pale, clear and translucent
Keratosis Pilaris - cleared up significantly, my skin was generally very moisturized feeling
Mind you this only lasted a day, possibly because of my "bad" diet, which followed. Perhaps the effects lasted longer but they weren't as apparent as the day after
However...
According to Wikipedia, the stones are formed of the olive oil and grapefruit/lemon juice...BUT they do actuall pass stones
A New Zealand hospital analyzed stones from a typical gallbladder flush and found them to be composed of fatty acids similar to those in olive oil, with no detectable cholesterol or bile salts [9]. The hospital letter to patients concluded The gallbladder flush may not be entirely worthless, however; there is one case report in which treatment with olive oil and lemon juice resulted in the passage of numerous gallstones, as demonstrated by ultrasound examination.[10]
So yes, I'm without a doubt positive that the stones I passed were just olive oil globules, but perhaps the flush also forced out some old stagnant bile in my liver, bile ducts and gallbladder. Perhaps this causes the positive effects.
I'm not really sure about the mechanisms, however I did notice the results, and others did too. So I personally can't argue with that even though it is only anecdotal advice.
And if the OP was having hallucinations, it was probably from the epsom salts, which aren't needed. Those will dehydrate you severely. The olive oil and grapefruit juice mixture will only make you feel really nauseous if anything. |

There are many ways to clean and maintain your liver, and we will discuss two of them, a quick liver flush which (according to our people in this directory) seems to come in many variations and one of Dr Schulze's that he's shared with us.
LIVER FLUSH #1
Dr. Hulda's liver cleanse method w/ HCL
Additionally, you may take 500 mg of Magnesium daily. This will help open the bile ducts. It may also cause diarrhea. Again, this is an option, depending on your needs and, as always, your health care professional.
On the evening of the third day (here comes the hard part) you will drink 8 ounces of organic, cold pressed, extra virgin olive oil. There are a couple of suggestions to help you get this down; one recipe calls for 8 ounces of Coca Cola ®; another calls for 8 ounces of grapefruit juice. Personally, I thought 16 ounces of any olive oil mixture was asking too much of me, so I added a couple shots of apple cider vinegar. No matter which you choose, add the juice of one lemon. Stir it up and drink it down quickly. Then grab a large bowl and lie in a fetal position, curled up on your right side for one half hour, and don't cheat. The bowl, by the way, should be by your face, for you will grow vomitose. I've never heard of anyone actually vomiting, but you will certainly think you will. So keep it there for security reasons, and just relax.
In the morning, check your stool. If you are like most Americans, you should find a few small green or black objects in it. These are stones. Gall stones. One more thing to note: for the next week or so, your trips to the bathroom will leave an oil slick.
LIVER FLUSH #2
This is Dr Schulze's week long liver flush, and according to him, he's never had a patient come to him with gall stones who wound up in surgery.
You will begin this flush on an empty stomach upon arising in the morning. The ingredients are:
* 8 oz. citrus juice, fresh squeezed
* or 8 oz. apple juice (if you are sensitive to citrus)
* 1 lemon, fresh squeezed (optional)
* 8 oz. distilled or filtered water
* 1 clove garlic
* 1 chunk ginger (as big as the tip of your thumb)
Mix it all up in a blender and drink it down.
CONTINUE LIVER CARE
Once you've cleansed your liver, you must learn to care for it every day, especially if you are battling a degenerative disease. Before we go on to cleansing your blood, we must talk about caring for your liver and the foods and moods that protect or damage it.
You can check your liver health simply by watching your stools. Dr Frank Charles says it's all in the color. Your stools should be dark brown. If they are gray, yellow, pale brown or dry and hard, your bile is low and your liver (and you) are in trouble.
Moods, like foods, affect your liver. Anger is the emotion that will put more strain on your liver than a week's binge on Champipple (beer & Ripple).
Fasting gives your liver a rest. So do small meals eaten throughout the day rather than two or three large meals. Overeating puts a strain on it.
Exercising exercises your liver. When you take a breath deeply, you flush the liver of toxins and newly created nutrients. If you think the muscles of couch potatoes are in poor shape, you should see their livers. Along with exercise, you need sleep. Eating before going to bed doesn't give your liver much rest. If you must eat before bedtime, choose fruit.
Beet juice, alfalfa juice, wheat grass juices are a treat for the liver. Alfalfa, besides containing vitamin K (helps absorption of vitamin C), is the liver's best friend. Finally, there's black radish which is a source of liver enzymes. Feeding the liver enzymes gives it a vacation (it doesn't have to make its own). |

You can get HCL from any health food store in your area
1. Clark's
2. Trader Joe's
You can also replace HCL by drinking a glass of lemon/celtic sea salt/and distilled water.

So I just do mini-liver flushes twice a week.
- cups water with 4 tablespoons of epsom salt
followed ten minutes later by
-1/4 cup olive oil
-1/4 lemon juice
And there you go! |

Readers, please use your common sense. "4 tablespoons of epsom salts" !!! You must like living in a toilet. |

I'm sad to see so many people willing to try this stuff. Tasha, as an avid natural health supporter, I find it mighty bizarre that you are recommending everything your natural doctor tells you to, when in fact their diagnoses are strictly for the individual involved and are never the same for two people. Posting recipes full of questionable ingredients as if they should be done every other day is incredibly dangerous and I would HOPE that people who read your "glowy, dewy skin" threads do so with common sense.
Our bodies come with our own detox systems. Flushing our liver whenever we want is not something we should be taking up without the consultation of a doctor or natural doctor. |

Hi, Well Thanks for the comment you just made. I find it quite odd but hey its your opinion. Do what you believe in. I really have no intention of forcing someone to do or try anything that I write on this forum. Im speaking from My experienceds and results. A simple liver cleanse every so often is not going to kill you. Its natural and in expensive. Im just a healthy person who likes to try different things and learn different things about skin, beauty and health.
Is it wrong of me to spread the word to those who arent familiar?
Well excuse me for bragging.

Hi, this is interesting. So how many cups of water do you use? Also are you not suppose to have anything else to eat or drink for a certain amount of time?
Thanks |

While I appreciate such cleansing may be for some, I am very concerned. IMO this type of routine is extreme. If anyone is considering it consult your doctor.
Several forum members have contacted EDS regarding this thread. At this time I am going to lock and move it to the DIY forum. Those who are interested kindly use our PM system to discuss further.
Thank you for your cooperation. |
