My girl friend told me about the fattest man in the world at 1200 lbs, and I didn't believe anyone could be that heavy. She sent me this link to prove it. Wow! He couldn't walk or get out of his house at 1200 lbs but now at 850 lbs, he was able to get out of the house. Someone had to wash him and clean him up after he went to the bathroom. This was a documentary on the TLC channel. I didn't see it (no cable at my house), but my girl friend told me about it.

According to the comments I read, he blamed fast food, working at his desk, and Americans for his obesity.

Wonder when he would take some responsibility for putting the food in his mouth, choosing the type of food to consume, and failing to exercise?

well said bkk! While I can have compassion for anyone fighting * spam alert *, at what point do you take responsibility for your own health? And why on earth are Americans to blame for his "big" problem?

I caught the last half of this documentary on TLC last week so I didn't hear about how he became so huge. But I did see the part when he got down to 850 lbs and he was able to leave the house...IN HIS BED...they hoisted it up on some wheels and ROLLED him out the front door!!! Then they forklifted the bed onto a flatbed truck and drove him, still in his bed, around the neighborhood! One of the weirdest things I've ever seen

Someone was responsible for brining him food, feeding him since he couldn't walk, right? So how could this person keep on giving him fatty/junky food?

I really, and I mean really, can’t imagine how much you would have to eat to get so big.
I could possibly do the calculation of calories consumed to gain each pound.. but to reach a weight like 1200 pounds? How would you have time to eat all that and maintain any kind of life, apart from food?

Since he could not walk, and had to stay in bed all day, I think all he could do was eat, but then again....someone had to bring him all the food.

I believe there was a similar young man forcibly removed from his mother's care in England one or two years ago.
