My husband is suffering from a skin condition, that his dermatologist thinks might be excema.Everything that has been tried to treat it has failed as of yet. He is really suffering. The itching is driving him crazy, he can't sleep. He was giving a sleeping aid but it doesn't even work. Steroids worked but as soon as he was done with the prescription, the rash returns worst then before. This has been going on for about 4 months now. They just did a biopsy and blood work. Anyone every experience anything similar? |

hattie, my baby had very bad eczema and we found out the cause was a food allergy (milk protein). I was nursing and he was getting the milk protein through my milk. Once I cut milk out of my diet his eczema cleared up. Eczema can also be caused by things in his surroundings (ie pet pollen, fabric softener, dyes in detergent, etc). I suggest you find out what is causing the eczema (if that's what it is) and eliminate it from his diet or surroundings and see how that helps. To help with the itch and the rash I suggest he soak in Aveeno oatmeal baths (I would also make my own by grinding up oatmeal to a fine powder), and apply a good moisturizer while his skin is still damp. One that worked well for us was Derma E's Psorzema Cream. |
