it might be helpful to list the ones you've tried--that way i won't accidentally suggest a sunscreen that you've already used! :] but shot in the dark, you hear good things about the psf sunscreen on this site...maybe you've already tried it? i don't know, but it might be worth a test run if you haven't. |

Remergent SPF30 is not greasy at all and definitely won't break you out. I have used it for ages without any problems. |

I have acne prone skin & Sofina Nuance Up has been a godsend. It's not at all greasy & dries to a matte finish. It's also functions as a great primer. I order mine from bobdave. You can also get it from ebay. |

The company that produces Remergent has been very involved in research into preventing skin cancers. The AGI Dermatics website is:

skinpro, I commiserate - it's soooo hard to find facial sunscreen isn't it? I've been using PSF SPF50 for a couple months now and really like it. It's not oily, greasy, doesn't clog pores, the white sinks in quickly and the price is something I can fit into my budget, which prompts me to use it every day. It's sold here on EDS. More details are offered in Product Reviews.
Hope this helps and good luck!

It sure is.. I think that no matter how great the product the sunblock itself(zinc, ti etc) make it greasy. I do like PSF pumpkin mask it rocks.. thanks I 'll check it out. |

I too have been thru a big range of products only to be disappointed. Have a whole collection of ssns/blocks that I now use on body b/c they caused one problem or another on my face.
Think my hunt for quality, reasonably priced product has finally come to an end with my purchase from EDS of PSF's Facial Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50. It is only slightly white during application which v. quickly fades. BEST of all IMHO, is that 1. it dries matte 2. it doesn't clog pores 3. it doesn't ball up other products
4. no greasy feel to it. MY GOD, the stuff works!!!
Had hoped the Avène Extreme Sunblock Cream SPF 50 would do the trick but it clogged my pores, balled up & tinted colour not to my liking.
RoC's Dry Touch Sun Lotion SPF 40 even worse for balling up.
The only other one that was high on acceptability list was Skinceuticals Sport UV Defense SPF 45 but didn't like the price.
So I'm with PSF as long as it continues to meet my criteria. |

Arya2, it really is a nice sunblock isn't it? Although I do hope to eventually find a purely physical sunblock for facial use; for the time being, PSF spf50 is my HG sunscreen and it's texture is nearly as nice as the feather light Clarins UV40! |

Am told by Nanci at NCN Professional Skincare that she's coming out with a totally natural physical block with an approx. SPF 15% altho' because of redtape & cost of getting FDA rating, she can't advertise it with an
SPF percentage.
But IMO, all her other products are great so this will probably meet the same high standard.
Meanwhile, I'm very happy with PSFs 50. |

a quick question - is there really a point wearing ss when the sun never comes out anyway? and when it actually does, it has no chance burning my skin. (last fall we broke a national record with over 100 rainy days in a row ) |

Can understand why you've posed this ? but all the information available about the sun's rays indicate that it's not necessarily about burning to the point of skin turning red. It's that rays also penetrate the skin surface and damage lower levels & this can be done w/o any visible evidence on the skin's surface.
I live in Ottawa Canada which can get pretty dark in winter during the day. But it can also be very bright w reflection from the snow. The only time I don't wear ss/block is at night or v. early a.m. if I'm popping outside for less than 1 minute to put out garbage.
My theory is that if the sun is bright enough to provide sufficient light to see w/o difficulty, it's bright enough to do damage.
But, my sympathies re all that rain.....hip waders & sscreen seem to be in order for you. |

Ziggy - Take a look at what one skincare site says about the sun...
Why is it necessary to use SPF all year long?
Many factors contribute to the aging process (photoaging) including stress, genetics, pollution, and smoking to name a few, however, the sun is the number one culprit. UVA rays are present 365 days a year and are what cause free radical damage. UVA rays go through glass, clouds, computers, and flouresant lighting. Chances are if you do have sun damage and age spots (hyperpigmentation), they're more prevalent on the left side of your face - from driving your car! UVB rays are the burning rays that cause the skin to burn. The color that's produced (a sunburn or a tan) is actually our skin's defense mechanism against the damage caused by UVB rays. A good way to remember:
UVA = Aging
UVB = Burning
The best and most technically advanced way to prevent and correct photoaging is through the daily use of an SPF 30, and the daily use of a strong anti-oxidant.
from ncnprofessionalskincare.com
Pretty strong things, those sun rays.....
