Hi,

I received a sample of PSF's papaya cleansing get and so far really like it. It smells great and seems to clean my oily skin really well. However, I'm a bit concerned with the colloidal silver that's in the gel. I've heard it can, in some cases, turn people's skin a blue/grey. Does anyone have any info on this or know if the amount in PSF's products is significant?

Thanks

I been using a natural skin care line that contains colloidal silver for about 2 years now and have never seen effects of blue/gray color, it fact I had never heard that before.

Cawl,

Thanks for your input. I had heard about the controversy regarding colloidal silver a while ago but what I don't know if the amount or way it's used makes a difference as to whether or not someone experiences the toxicity. It seems a bit risky to me since if you do develop the blu/grey skin color it's not reversible. Having said that it seems to be a rare thing.

Hi Smile

I doubt very much that the amount of C.S. in PSF's cleanser would make your skin turn blue. I think we talked about this a while back - can't recall the thread, but PSF as a company wouldn't - in my humble opinion - do that, ethically or with the knowledge they have.

Thanks Ruth, I agree, I know PSF is a great company and I like their products but I had also heard for years about the controversy about using colloidal silver so I wondered why they had chosen to use it. But I imagine we would have heard something by now if people using the papaya gel were turning blue! Smile

Looks like you have to ingest it (and in large/ prolonged amounts) to get the "blues", so ladies as long as you dont eat your cleanser you should be fine! Wink
