Okay! So I have this great friend who is Japanese and he was kind enough to ask me if there was anything that I would like him to bring me back to the states. Of course instantly I said great quality green tea. But as far as beauty products or sunscreens, what are your faves that cannot be bought in the US? I love Sofina UV cut milk, but I've stocked up on that. I'd love to hear your opinions on your faves that maybe I should consider. I'm always on the look out for a great potent Sunblock (since I'm on the Obagi regimen) so if there's one you love, I'd love to hear it!

TIA!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

sofina perfect uv is a staple of mine! the lucent version is great, though im using the whitening version now to see if it helps with some recent acne scarring (i havent noticed a difference, so im going to just go back to lucent). ive also heard a lot about shiseido anessa, it's a recent brand, but other than the hair sunscreen spray (one of my aunts gave it to me randomly) i havent tried it, but i hear it's pretty good, there's like 5 different versions, including waterproof and nonwaterproof ones. for cheaper options, nivea gel sunscreen is quite popular, and even biore is nice too.

lunasol makes excellent makeup, and paul and joe makeup (especially their eye crayons!) are a favourite of mine. i'm also fond of anna sui, though her eyeshadows dont last long and sometimes crease, i still love the packaging and the lovely rose smell. there are also a couple of good drugstore makeup brands, like majorica majulica. t'estimo is really great (their minimascara is a favourite of mine) but i think they're getting phased out/replaced by another brand or something. for getting my sunscreen off at night, i use fancl mild oil cleanser.

i love the face masks by kose, there are several different versions, i usually got the ones that had like 20 in a box, the collagen one was really nice and relaxing.

Do you happen to know what the price of Sofina very very UV cut milk sunblock is in Japan, in US dollars? I'd love to get some, but wondered if it's alot cheaper than the 26 dollars it sells for here on Bobodave.com
TIA!!

I LOVE the Kanebo Freshel White C line - cheap and good! I'm of the normal-oily skin type and the Freshel White C Normal-oily (green label vs pink which is for normal-dry) is perfect for me. The line really does work to even out my skintone within 2 weeks. The line is a drugstore product and the toner & moisturizer are both in the range of under $15 each. As the name suggests, the line uses Vit. C and also gentiana (sp?) extract.

i just bought sofina perfect uv (lucent) in Tokyo, the small bottle for 1575 yen and the 60ml is 3100 yen. So there's no real saving buying it in Japan but bobodave doesn't sell the smaller size. I got the smaller one as I wasn't sure if I'd like it. So far I think I like it but it can get a little drying. I have combo skin. I also got DHC cleansing oil in Japan as well and it's definitely cheaper over there 125 yen for the smaller size. HTH.

Oh yes, I'll second the Tsubaki shampoo and conditioner. They're absolutely lovely, and I think only 400yen a bottle.

Hi, Is there a measurable difference in the effectiveness of fresh water vs. salt water pearls used for pearl powder? THANKS! Smile

Sofina UV Perfect is not protective as i thought as dark spots still came out after using.

So, then I changed to Shiseido Anessa SPF50+ (the silver one).

I hope it will help a bit.

Has anyone seen the DHC website?
They have an alpha arbutin line and white sunscreen.
