My daughter used Proactiv and her skin did the same thing. She continued the product anyway and all the breaking-out stopped. It did great for her and as a result, she doesn't have a bunch of acne scarring. She stopped using the Proactiv after about six months. Now for maintenance she uses Clean and Clear by Johnson and Johnson. It's the Continuous Control Acne Cleanser. It was an over-the-counter product with the same main ingrediant as the cleanser with Proactiv had. So far, her face is doing great.
Hope this helps.

I've used Proactiv for about 10 months now. It is the *best* thing in skin care I've ever experienced.

Take heart, it takes a couple of weeks to allow your skin to get used to it, but once you get the moisture balance down it is wonderful. Make sure you're moisturizing day and night. I like the Proactiv moisturizer for day (absorbes quickly) and L'oriel Plentitude Active Daily Moisture for night after using all 3 Proactiv steps.

Hi there,

I'm so glad that others like Proactiv as much as I do! Sometimes I think I should WORK for Gunthy-Renker (distributors) because I've sold so many people on the product.

I've been using Proactiv for 10 years now and I LIVE by it. I've even tried to stop using it for a month but my acne would come back. There's really no "cure" for acne -- but there is "control." Nowadays, I use Proactiv in the morning and Yonka in the afternoons and evenings. It's a good balance between skin care lines in case Proactiv is too strong for your skin (unlikely but the toner was a bit strong for me).

I don't remember how my skin reacted the first few days I used it, but the general rule is that your skin will get a little bit worse at first -- the cleanser and medicine will purge alot of the underlying sebum and acne. Try not to pick or squeeze, though, or you'll scar! Be consistent with washing your face and applying the medicine (it's only 3 steps) and your skin will look lots better -- if not, you can always return it for a full refund. I think the sudden emergence of pimples was just part of the "cleansing" process -- the system is trying to get rid of all the dirt underneath before it can start to balance and maintain the skin.

Hope it helps! Good luck! Very Happy
