I have noticed that my eyes always appear red. I carry Visene in my purse and use it sparingly but a few hours later they are red again.
Any suggestions for brighter eyes? |

Hi there,
My eye doctor told me not to use Visine because it will make your eyes more red later. I don't remember her exact reasons. It seemed to make good sense at the time. So all I could remember is not to use Visine.
She recommended using artificial tears like Refresh Plus for dry eyes. She said by the time the eye drop gets in your eyes, any preservative in it will have dissipated.
I'm not sure if your eyes are red due to dryness (most likely cause) or because you're not getting enough sleep. Anyway try to get more sleep and if your eyes feel dry, try Refresh brand eye drops. There is one other brand she recommended, but I don't recall. |

Those Visine eye drops constricts the vessels in your eyes so making your eyes appear whiter. Awhile later, it lost its effect so your eyes appear red again. So using artificial tears are good for your eyes cuz it hydrates instead of restricting your vessels giving u an impression of whiter eyes. |

Visine works for me. But I only use it a few times a week. Don't use it too often. I don't know why, just remember it's not good for your eyes. |

Innoxa Gouttes Bleues Eye Drops - you can get them in Europe, it sells there in drugstore. I got mine on Ebay - it works for me really good! And, it is all natural ingridients. |

Eyes_green, do you know how much the Innoxa retail for in Europe (Paris specifically)? My bf is there and I want him to pick some up for me if it's cheaper there than on eBay. |

my ophthalmologist told me to use Tears Naturelle II.
do you wear contacts? my eyes are red often because my eyes dry out really easily even though i wear contact lenses that are *supposed* to let more oxygen into the eyes. In that case, try wetting drops. |

Any possibility it is allergies? My ophthamologist recommended "Opticrom" by Allergan - 3x a day - and to avoid ALL Visine products. |

No allergies and I do not wear contacts but I think I need them. I couldn't read the ingredients label on a product I was checking out at Sephora. |

I have been told not to use Visine as well. I use Clear Eyes (which i'm sure is just as bad, just not visine brand). I cannot help it...I get extremely red eyes, and if I don't use it I look like I'm on drugs. I have tried "natural tears" and whatnot and it does not do a thing for the redness. I am afraid I am hurting my eyes, but I cannot stand how utterly horrible I look with blazing red eyes. |

I use Visine a few times a week for that same reason. I get very little sleep, I have allergies and I sit in front of a computer all day, so my eyes get very red and look horrible. My eye doctor almost chocked when I once told him how often I use Visine and warned me against using it, but it's the only drops I have found that reduce the redness quickly. Of course I would prefer to reduce the redness naturally by quitting my job and sleeping all day, but that's just not possible. |

I use Clear Eyes EVERY DAY. I think any eye dr would scold me to no end. But like I said, NOTHING else (natural anyway) takes away the redness, and I look ridiculously horrible with nasty bloodshot eyes. |
