Have you had this done? Were you happy with it?
If you have a fair complexion, what shade did you use?
Tips? Suggestions? Comments? Thanks! |

I've done it...and LOOOOOOOOOVE it Before that, I didn't have eyes when my eye makeup was off. Now they are still there and I am not as self conscious without my eye makeup on. I brought in my eyeliner pencil and she matched the color, which is a dark brown-black. ((I am fair to olive skinned. I was olive but 20 years of Retin A has bleached out my skin to "fair.")) Initially I was very nervous about having it done, afraid I would come out with dark, bold lines above and below my eyes...consequently I have done it gradually, and had about 5 sessions now. Very happy with it. Here's who I went to...(she's great!) She also has some before and after photo's on there:

I didn't find it painful. Uncomfortable and weird feeling at times, but the lids are numbed so it just felt like a little bristle brush running over my lids. Admittedly, when it comes to vanity, I have incredible pain tolerance! |

i've always wanted to do this but i'm chicken. I've heard it is better to use brown pigments over black ones, because the black ones turn that turqoise/grey colour over time. |

my mother got her eyebrows permanently done and it took alot of getting used to (for those of us who had to look at her). How permanent is permanent? Is it a form of tattoeing? |

Permanent make up is just that: Permanent. Yes, it is tatooing. Over time it fades and because I use Retin A, mine unfortunately fades faster than normal! |

I would imagine if you had a thick bold line on your lids it might not look so hot at 90. Mine is very subtle and as I get older, I realize how much more I NEED eyeliner and how much harder it gets to apply it. I think its one of the better "cosmetic moves" I've ever made. BTW, I work with people who are losing their sight or going completely blind. The women who have worn makeup all their lives are distressed about no longer being able to apply it, so it is fabulous for people like that too. Actually, it was a beautiful 50 year old client of mine that was losing her sight and had top and bottom permanent liner done...(and I think eyebrows too) and that totally sold me on it. It was gorgeous and she was thrilled. Now so am I! |

I had my eyes done about 4 years ago, and I have a slight bit of color left. Although I am blonde and blue eyed with med. skin tone, I used dark black and was very glad I did. The color will fade quite a bit initially so I never found it too harsh. I believe that with all the lotions and potions I use, that it does affect the longevity of the dye. I should probably go back in the next while and re-do them, but there is still enough of a hint of color that I am not in that much of a rush. I did have some freezing with mine, but it does still hurt a bit, and not for the squeamish...it is well worth it though. Plan on the liner looking great for the first 2 years and then gradually fading out over the next 2. |
