Has anyone used Jane Iredale mineral makeup?

I have used Bare Escentuals for years, but, after reading some posts, I'm wondering if I shouldn't make a change. I have noticed, with my advancing years and inner furnace going full-tilt, the BE tends to "move" around on my nose. I'd like to find a mineral makeup that stays put, doesn't feel heavy, goes on similarly to BE, and covers my age spots (though I think I'm going to try Remergent DNA to get rid of them). Also, how do you decide what color to get? I know what I wear in BE because I can purchase it at Ulta, but I'm not sure how to go about this with another line. Thanks!

I have been using the Jane Iredale iquid on and off and its ok I can't use the loose/powder even with the new formula either the bismuth or the new one with the alge make me itch. The liquid you have to get the hang of application and not use to much but it does look good on my skin-Normal/sensative skin use warm Silk in winter and glden glow in summer for reff MAC NC20

What has worked best for me is using Obagi skin care line -- it really works fabulously! Then, for make-up, I mix about 1/2 of BE mineral veil with about 1/4 base -- you may have to play around with the mixture to get it just right for you. Also, for the brown spots, get a really good tiny brush and apply BE concealer powder; sometimes you may have to apply more than one application - but it will work and not appear as though you've put make-up on to "cover" up. I'd love to know if any of these suggestions work for you.

I've used the liquid minerals also. I just couldn't get the hang of applying with the beads in it. I think it made my face a little drier. If you have some oilier skin it might work for you.

I've used Jane Iredale and Laura Mercier MMU. Both are very good, but JI has a better selection of shades. I use the MMU as a concealer by mixing a tiny bit of the powder with a drop of water and layering it carefully under my eyes and around my nose. I say carefully because it is easy to over-do it and end up with heavy coverage.

I use JI liquid minerals. I'm sorry i have not used BE so cannot provide a comparison. I really like this product though. I have always preferred liquid foundations. I did try the powder but have gone back to the liquid. I find it quite easy to build the coverage to suit. While i do not have age spots, i do have some acne marks to cover. I usually touch up with JI disappear if required. I then finish off with the pressed minerals to make it last a bit better.
It is not the longest lasting foundation I have tried, especially in summer (my t-zone can be oily) but it is still my favourite. As for colour...I used the guide on the JI website and ended up with a good match. I also searched this forum and found some good advice in old threads as i recall. HTH Smile

I ordered a bunch of Jane Iredale samples quite some time ago and found that I didn't like the pressed foundation as much as the loose powder one. For me, I had a harder time controlling coverage levels with the pressed powder than the loose powder. I'm a bisque in the winter and warm silk in the summer. (No, I use sunscreen religiously so I don't tan, but I choose a slightly darker foundation in the summer to effect a slight "summer glow.")

I've been a fan of JI for many years. I actually came across it after I tried BE and found it to be somehow too pearly on my skin - it just looked shiny and I didn't want to have to use the setting powder over the top. I was also not particularly happy with the loose powder formulation (I kept making a mess and applying too much on the brush) so the JI pressed formulations looked good. I'm a Warm Silk in summer and the Fairly Light in BE. I found the JI much easier to apply than the BE and the look it gives isn't as shiny. HTH

I have normal to dry skin and Jane Iredale made my skin itch impossibly. I found LauRess and especially UGloGirl to be the best for me. After much sampling I got Fresco in UGG and thought I was happy with the color,but now I think it's perhaps too dark for me--I look suntanned all the time as I wear blush. Without the blush I look too fake, I feel. I never did understand the warm-cool concept very well, but in MAC they gave me NW400 (maybe a tad too yellow on me) and in Armani 5.5. I haven't used the base makeup from JI, but I am currently using a bunch of eye, cheek and lip makeup. The eyeshadows are fantastic and aren't too shiny, and they don't sink into your creases (or look dry); they are also much easier to apply than the loose powder version of BE shadows and blushes.

Overall I am very happy with JI mineral makeup, but unfortunately because I didn't try the foundation I cannot give you an honest opinion...
