Hi everyone! I see so many skin care products advertised on tv these days (QVC,HSN,and infomercials for example) and wondered if anyone has tried any of them. If so, what ones and what did you think? Also, does anyone know of any "magic potion" to get rid of red acne marks/scars?

Thanks! Hope to hear back!

Luckily we don't have these channels in Australia so I can't get tempted by any of the products! Cool

We do get informercials but mainly during the day, i.e. when I am at work. However past experiences in general with products (not just skincare) from infomercials have kinda made me a bit more resilliant to them...

I have only been swayed once to buy something from QVC. QVC in the UK promotes a range of skincare products by Liz Earle. Having listened to them rave on about them for 1 hour I was convinced they would be right for me.

I also checked reviews on various websites and they had positive things to say about the products.

The products were alright. Too rich for my oily/blemished skin. They smell gorgeous though, lots of botanical, natural ingredients.

I would be wary of buying anything just because of a presentation on a shopping channel or an infomercial. They are trying to get you to buy the stuff so they will say anything and everything to persuade you. They want your money! Although, QVC do offer a 30 day money back guarantee if you're not happy with the product. Whether or not they'll do this no questions asked - couldn't say.
If you like the look of a product, do some research on the internet. There are plenty of websites offering reviews of skincare products (or any other product you might be tempted to buy). Do a search on the skincare section of this forum for any products you might be interested in. People here have tried lots of different products and they will give you honest opinions as they are not on commission (well, I hope not!). Very Happy

Hi, it was a shopping channel that was for a product with argireline in that led me to do a web search and end up at EDS so I for one am very grateful to shopping channels. I am even going to give three cheers, otherwise I would not have improved my skin care line so much or spent sooo much money. But all worth it.

I like to check out the skincare/cosmetics kit options QVC offer, sometimes, they do offer good pricing for kits of a major brand name, such as smashbox,L'occantane,BE, philosophy, etc. But not everything they sell comes with a good deal, you can buy the same items in mall without paying the S&H easily..so, you may need to do a search ahead.

I dont like HSN at all, to me, they seem to be selling products of lower quality and sometimes, I wonder if the call-in testinonials are true or not! The hosts are mostly like acting when they hold a show, they are just acting excessively excited and happy about a product, esp. a skincare/cosmetics product! I hate that they like to push you buy a kit bececasue a particular item is sold out on its own, and the only way you can get this particular item is to buy this particular kit?!
