I would just like to know what vitamins and minerals you are taking for your skin Smile

I'm about to purchase cod liver oil or multi-vits and MSM for my skin and overall health.

Also, are there any vits and minerals that should not be taken together???

Very Happy

Hey Yeah-yeah,

Look up posts by Yen - she always has great advice on vitamins and minerals. Also, another member often recommends WebMD.

As far as I know, there are no big contraindications. I take the GNC Women's multi and fish oils in the am and another multi and calcium at night as a base.

When I remember, I take Dr. Andrew Weil's formula of Vitamin C & E- selenium - carotenes, as well as soy lecithin. It does help with energy, and I think the lecithin(sp?) helps with cellulite.

A solid multi vitamin mineral + fish oil is a great combo (plus a small dose of extra iron for me). Wink

I have added these supplements to my skincare regime:

BioCollagen II (has completely plumped my lips and fine lines--seriously dramatic results!)

L-Carnosine (anti-aging amino acid--just started with this one, so nothing to report as of yet)

Astaxanthin (incredibly powerful antioxidant--I noticed a difference in the texture of my skin almost immediately)

MSM, HA and vitamin C.

Juliemarie, I use Ion Silver Lingusil MSM in powder form. The powder is great. I mix it with lemon, sweetener and hot water and it tastes pretty good that way Smile

Hi Juliemarie

I dont know where you are, but Im in the UK and I've tried two brands of MSM- one from Hellenia (http://www.healthfoods-uk.com/minerals/products.htm#H211) but they have fillers and I couldnt see any benefits from taking them. So I went ahead to order from http://www.a1msm.co.uk./index2.htm and they do not have any fillers nor addictives, and they have them in flakes, tablets and capsules. I bought the capsules, as I found that with the Hellenia tablets, it has a bitter taste.

Thanks Agent OO-CAT! Very Happy

I haven't been taking as many supplements for my skin as I used to. My ND weened me off the Zinc Citrate and the A-Mulsion (Vitamin A).

I did a 40 day liver detox (Livdetox by Douglas Labs) over the holidays (I know...shocking). I didn't lose any weight like I did with my Brown Rice Cleanse the year before. However, just like the Brown Rice Cleanse, my skin greatly improved. Sometimes we just need to cleanse the gunk out of our system. My ND recommends doing two detox per year.
